whenever I read news like this from oil producing states, I begin to wonder what the state Govt does with the extra 13% oil derivation and how the NDDC have been faring in providing basic public needs like portable water for the communities. it's a pity sad

More people have died in the hands of Cholera in Bayelsa than those who died from Ebola in the whole of Nigeria.
GEJ was very quick to milk the achievements of Lagos state government on Ebola. Can we now blame him for this cholera outbreak which is closer home.
Shame on GEJ and his wife who can build billion naira hotels but cannot provide water to the local people.

This one of the consequences of poor environmental health practices among our citizens couple with negligence on the part of our government to provide the needed amenities in the rural areas. Health officers in that state should take an immediate steps and stop calling politicians that dose not care about the live of their citizens
The state government should do something about this, & not fold their hands waiting for federal government
That is what many state Governments do best...and that is why resource control is not going to work in Nigeria.

It is embarrassing that both President Goodluck Jonathan and the governor of Bayelsa State have failed to provide sanitation and simple primary health care for the least populated state in Nigeria with only 1,704,515 people.
Because, cholera is cased by poor sanitation and poor primary health care system. What is Bayelsa State doing with N173 billion annual revenue allocation?

Finance Minister, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has listed Nigeria’s 10 highest revenue receiving states based on the federal allocations in 2013.

The states, according to her, earn more than the annual budgets of some neighboring countries.

The allocations are as follows:

Akwa Ibom N260 billion,
Rivers N230 billion,
Delta State N209 billion,
Bayelsa N173 billion,
Lagos N168 billion,
Kano N140 billion,
Katsina N103 billion,
Oyo N100 billion,
Kaduna N 97 billion
Borno N94 billion.

Okonjo-Iweala gave the breakdown of the allocations on Sunday at Babcock University’s 12th Convocation at which she delivered a lecture with the theme: ‘Transforming Nigeria economy: Opportunities and Challenges’

They are disgracing their home state.
Show me your home and I will tell you how successful you are.
The appalling deplorable state of Bayelsa is enough proof of the failure of President Goodluck Jonathan from when he was deputy governor and governor of Bayelsa to becoming Vice President and President of Nigeria since 1999 to date.
He would fare better to return back to Bayelsa in 2015 and complete his homework.

And their son is the president for the past 6 years, bayelsa cannot boast of portable water for the entire state. Their daugther in-law has looted the entire state and left them at the mercy of cholera. I am sorry for the Bayelsans.

They will die in poverty if they do not vote for GMB that will put all that have looted their money into jail and collect the money ffrom them and develop their state.

2015 and all the revenue realized from Agriculture in the past and crude oil in the present.

There has been existence of Council, Local, State and Federal Government in Nigeria.

A larger proportion of the country can still not boast of portable water supply.
