A 27-year-old woman in Ushafa, a suburb of Abuja has been apprehended for purportedly pouring hot, pepperish water on her fellow woman whom she claimed was having an affair with her male lover.

Report has it that the victim, Blessing Markson, 25, on that faithful day was in her sister’s hair saloon, when the suspect charged at her with a plate filled with hot liquid substance which she emptied on her. The substance burnt off part of her face and breasts.


It was gathered that, the suspect who is an indigene of Cross River State, on seeing some text messages on her boyfriend’s phone sent by the victim had accused him of having an affair with the victim.

Report says trouble broke out after the suspect prepared a meal and was turned down by her lover. This action did not go down well with her, and she attacked the alleged lover.

According to an eyewitness, “She succeeded in tracing the victim in her sister’s saloon through the same phone number she had been calling and sending the text messages to her lover’s phone.

“As soon as she got to the saloon, she engaged her in a fight before pouring the hot substance which was a mixture of pepper and hot ointments on her face and breasts.

It was learnt that, the suspect on seeing the pains inflicted on the victim fled the scene but was caught by residents and and Civil Defence on guard in the area.

John Efere the head of NSCDC in Bwari, when contacted confirmed the incident,saying the suspect is currently cooling her heels in their custody.
