I have been thinking about this for quite some time now and
felt I should hear your opinions and ideas about this
sensitive issue.

Worldly songs? When is a song called Worldly? Or are all
Worldly songs bad? I really need answers to this cause I
want to learn.

Truly, when I hear some songs and their lyrical content, wow
is my next expression because they can be bad to the core
But then again, if someone sings for peace,or about the lost
of a lost one to console mourners, nursery rhymes, national
anthem, school anthems and many others good songs I
know, I tend to wonder where to classify such or are we
going to say that they are equally bad because they are
worldly?

Please o I really need your opinions.

The question is "what impact does the song have on you?". There are a lot of songs being sang these days that leads you thinking
in the wrong direction. Let your conscience guide you though.

There's no doubt that the best melodies plus sou d lyrical contents are gotten from the church. However, music is first of all melody! Enjoy the melody and if it's danceable, pls do. Whoever classified some as worldy sef?

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. 9The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:8-9

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Philippians 4:8

@ OP, do u eat every sweet food that comes ur way? So u need to be selective in the type of songs u listen to.

All things are good for me, but not all things are expedient for me, all things are expedient for me, but not all things are profitable says the Bible!

:oA song is classified as worldly if it is full of negatives, foul language, pornographic context and other things that are unsavoury to the ear.

Why are you listening to worldly songs?

1 John 2:15 - 17 15

''Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.''
