The management of Niger Delta Power Holding Company Limited, owners of the National Integrated Power Project has refuted reports that the recently inaugurated 750 megawatts Olorunsogo ll Power Plant was commissioned by former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

The General Manager, Communication and Public Relations, NDPHC, Mr. Yakubu Lawal, said the completion and commissioning of the phase II Olorunsogo plant was a fulfilment of the present administration’s promise to complete inherited power projects.

Lawal, in a statement, said the phase II was a combined circle plant consisting of four units GE made Gas turbines, four heat recovery steam generators and two steam turbine units, with each turbine having a 125MW capacity.

He said, “The power plant thus has the capacity to generate 750MW, a positive development over the phase I plant commissioned by Obasanjo regime which has eight turbine units each of 42MW with a total of 335MW.”

He stated that while the Olorunsogo II project was built by the NIPP as a joint investment of the three tiers of governments of Nigeria, the Olorunsogo I project was basically a Federal Government project.

“Both of the projects were built by SEPCO III of China under distinct and separate contracts. The two power plants sit adjacent to one another but on defined and distinct survey coordinates. They can be accessed by any investigative journalist or indeed any inquisitive person seeking accurate unbiased information at any time.”

Lawal stated that the NIPP was conceived in 2004 by President Obasanjo as a major fast-track initiative to add significant new capacities in generation, transmission and distribution to Nigeria’s electricity supply chain.

He noted that President Goodluck Jonathan’s commitment first as the steering Chairman of NIPP and later pioneering Chairman, Board of Directors of NDPHC actually gave life to the success stories of today.

So by this analogy, if a man builds a bungalow and called friends and family to do house warming for the bungalow and per chance he is able to add another floor to the same building, he will call KWAM1 to come do another house warming then if he adds another floor, he will call Dbanj for another round of house warming.

God will deliver Nigeria from the spendthrift we have in power. He should go and re-commission.the 3rd mainland bridge since they made repairs on it last year.

They for no name this one olorunsogo. Mafoluku would have been appropriate. No be only Olorunsogo II na Olorunosebi 5 dem for call am.

This news was published by PM newspaper, watch how they turn it on apc's head.
This is the new trick from the pdp, fly false information by proxy then come back to debunk it as Apc lies.

You are very correct on this one. I also noticed this. And it usually puts APC enthusiasts in a defensive position as they always want to defend APC and will thus reinforce the message that the PDP is churning out that the news indeed emanated from APC whereas the opposite is the case.

PDP is a serious evil that Nigeria must do away with especially at this present time. The level of propanganda they are playing is highly despicable to say the least.

And after they spin their propaganda, they will immediately release their internet army to propagate the stance with so much ferocity. APC is luckily surviving their onslaught just because they have a huge number of passionate supporters online.

We are in trouble in this country. Barefaced lies can be turned upside down to make the guilty look innocent.

Once someone or a party has been caught with lies and propaganda they now conviniently turn around to blame the other party as the ones that initiated the lie/propaganda.

So who do we believe.

Pdp is boko haram/ Apc sponsors boko Haram

Buhari's interview in london/ buhari's interview in transcorp abuja

Buhari is to speak at chatham house/ buhari is in a hospital

Buhari is qualified for election/ buhari is certificateless, therefore not qualified because he sumitted an incomplete form.

GEJ is winning Boko haram/ why now when elections are near.

Jega is ready/ Jega is not ready
School cert is FSLC/constitution never mentioned which sec/pri sch cert. It simply said 'sch cert'

Obj commissioned it first/ Obj did not commission it

When APC goof, they twist it and say it emanated from PDP just to discredit them.

When PDP goof, the president waves it off as fake video.

It looks like even if you catch someone red handed in Nigeria for stealing/lieing one can still not get a straight convictions.
There is something fundamentally wrong with us. Black is not black again, white is not white again in this country.

Listening to your dust yearns make me cringe. Do you think you have made any sense at all?

Olorunsogo 1 power plant is different from olorunsogo 2, what part of that is difficult for you to understand in your fictitious ship-owning brain?

They are two different power generating plants. chukwudi44, you need to ignore this loafer.
