By Oche Joseph Otorkpa President Jonathan Joined former heads of state in Sokoto to celebrate the 90th Birthday of Nigeria's first Civilian President Alhaji Shehu shagari (Marafan Sakkwato). Those who Joined the President at the private event were Former head of state Gen Yakubu Gowon, former Military president Gen Ibrahim Babangida, Chief Ernest Shonekon, and General Abdulssalam Alhaji Abubakar. The leaders took turns to personally sign the giant birthday card for the former president and proceeded to join him in the traditional cutting of the birthday cake. Conspicuously missing at the main event were Gen Olusegun Obasanjo and General Mohammadu Buhari who is said to be recuperating in a London home. This is what Ex presidents should do. After your tenure rest, groom your children, enjoy your grandchildren, be a statesman and advise based on experience when things seems awry. Some ex leaders decided to rule till dem die, some decide to become a pain in the ass to the present Government because their children Don abandon them... Some believe they are born to rule and without them Nigeria will perish.
