Mr Mohamed Ibn Chambas, Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for West Africa, has reported plans by the UN and the African Union, AU, to send 7,800 troops to battle Boko Haram uprising.

Chambas said on Tuesday in Lagos that the troops would be legitimately prepared to battle all manifestations of Boko Haram insurrection in West and Central Africa.

The uncommon delegate said the UN, AU and worldwide accomplices met a month ago at two different gatherings to think on the modalities for making a multi-national joint taskforce.

Chambas included that the taskforce would be constituted with the commitment of troops from four nations.

"One of the top needs of the UN today is the battle against Boko Haram. Boko Haram is an issue in Nigeria as well as has turned into a global concern. As we all know today, Boko Haram has likewise taken its outrages to Cameroon, Niger and Chad.
