The rescheduling of the February election dates saved Nigeria and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from a monumental tragedy that could have befallen the nation.

All lovers of democracy should appreciate the effort of those that worked assiduously towards the shift of the already scheduled February 14 and 28 dates. In fact, if the election was held- the situation would have been chaotic, because over 23 million registered voters would not be able to vote for no fault of theirs.


According to the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh “the fact that millions of Nigerians are still struggling to receive their PVCs a week after the February 14th date, clearly shows that the commission would have been thoroughly embarrassed had it gone ahead with the elections on that day”.
