Igbo women under the umbrella body of Amoji Women Association (AWA), Umoji, Anambra State, have embarked on massive mobilisation in support of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), in order to boost his chances at the poll.

The group based their determination on the policy framework of Buhari and his party, which they said dwelt on transforming Nigeria from its present woes, in the area of constant electricity supply, massive employment opportunities, good governance, investment opportunities among others.

According to the spokesperson of the group, Mrs. Bernadine Ifeoma Eloka, who told journalists in Lagos that her people are mobilising more support for APC, there is the belief that APC is the right party with the right candidates to give Nigeria and Nigerians the needed change for a better nation.

“APC is a party for change. We are tired of empty promises, which our politicians have always failed to fulfill. This is the opportunity we have to tell other women what we have discovered about Buhari. We need a man who is angry about the state of the nation like the masses, in order to bring positive the change needed. Our people are angry for lack of basic amenities and poverty in the land.

“Look at our economy, instead of improving, it is deteriorating. Last year, my husband and I visited the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), we looked at the old structures that were built in the 1960s and we ask a question that if the country can build that the type of structures in the 60s, what is happening to Nigeria today? Getting that structure in Nigeria today is like impossibility,” she said.

The women leader put aside the sentiment by some of her kinsmen on Buhari’s candidature, stressing that it does not matter where a candidate hails from, especially if the person possesses good leadership qualities and he isa good Samaritan, who can salvage the country out of its predicament by providing positive change.

She said: “We have so many nonsense situations going on. Look at the state of our roads, look at the challenges of investing in the country, foreigners don’t have confidence in investing here anymore because they are not sure of the future in terms of government policies and security.

“What we are looking for is a government that would build confidence in foreign investors. If we can have constant power supply and security, we’ll attract lot investments from foreigners into this country. You’ll find out that if we achieve this, the issue of unemployment will be addressed. We need that leader that is angry because enough is enough, let us move forward.”

Eloka advised fellow Nigerian women to stop thinking as slaves, but to form a formidable force with one voice to address issues affecting women in Nigeria, particularly in the area of women’s right. She called on them to support change that will equally affect women and to recognise that women have a key role to play in Nigeria.

“Our support for Buhari is hinged on the fact that Buhari, as a former head of state, doesn’t have too much assets in Nigeria and also across the world like others. I believe that with him, the level of corruption in Nigeria will be reduced to the barest minimum because he would block all the leakages in all the sectors,” AWA leader said.

These are the right thinking women of Igboland. They have put forward very cogent reasons devoid of sentiments and bigotry to support the amiable General and this is the way we need to play politics for Nigeria to move forward.

No sane persons will put their hope on a president who has failed to deliver on most of his promises in the last 5 years plus. To do that is nothing other than pure undiluted idiocy.

It amounts to insanity for anyone to expect that a president, who didn't deliver despite knowing he was coming to beg for your votes for a second time, will actually deliver on his promises during the second time when he has no need to come beg for your votes. What type of logical human being does this?

On a lighter note, barcanista is missing since about four days ago. Perhaps the protection offered is not enough or he has realized that the change cannot be stopped! grin grin grin

Please tell him we miss him if you see him. We care for his well-being no matter what.

Buhari is wasting his money in the east, I'd advice him to concentrate on his 12 million talakawas. Buhari has never won a state in the South, he's not about to win any Southern state now.

Same failed Buhari of 2003, 2007 and 2011, people chop his money and desert the extremist at election time.

Meanwhile in other regions GEJ is....check the second picture below.

Funny enough it is the people who live outside Naija that are more passionate about seeing that man in Otuoke rather than Aso Rock. They are the people who actually know that Nigerians have no business being poor having seen how good leadership makes working societies.

It is an absurdity that majority of the people shouting GEJ till 2019 are those who are passing through the pains of this failed government and yet are fine with being led to their death.

It is mostly a result of ethnic and religion bigotry.

No sane person will wish for the continuation of this government of deceit except those paid to do so. And I tell you, those living outside have seen the benefits of good governance and have more desire to see that in Nigeria.

Has Buhari changed from a terrorist loving apologist to a more respectable statesman? At polling booths people remember his pasts, the only ones thinking Buhari might actually win are e-warriors, the truth would become apparent in less than three weeks.

Mark my words.

No sane Nigerian who is got a very sincere interest of the Nation at heart would endorse/support/vote Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for a second term in office. He had his opportunity to prove himself to the Nigerian people for about 5years now but threw it to the wind and now he has resorted to money politics. Please, if GEJ/FFK/Abati/Okupe/Etc offers you any money (dollar bills), just as the entertainment celebrities are making it really big now from them in hard currencies, take with full pleasure and do the right thing on March 28, 2015 by voting BUHARI-OSINBAJO/APC.
Nigerians do not be DECEIVED by their adverts/endorsements of some Nollywood stars; they are only interested in what comes into their individual pockets.

Big kudos to Omotola Jolade-Ekeinde for outrightly refusing to be bought over for false properganda

Nigeria shall be great again.

Vote Gen. Muhammadu Buhari & Prof. Yomi Osinbajo come March 28, 2015.

GEJ's retirement is in sight.

Jonathan's bad present has surpassed buhari's bad past. For babaginda to say he is a saint compared to jonathan you should know something has definitely gone wrong.

People saying Buhari will bring the needed change, my question is, how has Buhari contributed to the development of this country ever since we enter into this democracy?
Is Lagos state equipped with good pump borne water?
Are all the street roads in Lagos tarred?
The only road constructed in Lagos was been paid for, this happens only in Lagos, any shortcut road in Lagos is been paid for.

Cross kpako, you pay for it. The reason I am not support APC is solely because of this.

APC will bring hardship to the people to enrich themselves.

You will pay for listening to the news, you will pay for newspaper that you did not read. You will pay for the air that you breath, you will also pay before you post on NL as the bloggers will all be tasked if not crackdown on.

Mark my word, APC will mortgage this country if power gets to their hand. Meanwhile, GEJ is working, and saboteurs will fail woefully.

The only ones ready to be short-changed are the Talakawas up north and some SW internet warriors. The SS, SE. Middlebelt etc knows whose interest Buhari serves.

There's a reason the OPC, Afenifere, Ohaneze, Arewa youths and all other groups are endorsing GEJ.

The Buhari of 2003, 2007 and 2001 is the same Buhari of 2015, the results would be the same, no matter how well marketed Buhari is.
