NOW I KNOW SAY WEDDING NO BE BEANS OOOOOOOOOOO........... 500K? CHAI!! ENOUGH TO START A SMALL GROCERIES STORE IN MY NEIGHBOURHOOD.... WITH THIS UNEMPLOYMENT RATE?? NOW THIS IS THE SOLE REASON WHY MANY. GUYS WOULD STILL REMAIN SINGLE FOR YEARS...... Hmmm................ LETTER TO MY GIRLFRIEND ASAP Dear gf, I hope you have seen all what OP wrote, about what we need to tie the knot, it is safe to say at this junction that this our relationship should remain at this stage, atleast for now, until the Economic Austerity becomes a little bit favourable. so i have two plans for you or we bid this relationship goodbye. PLAN A NO WEDDING UNTIL I MAKE MILLIONS COS ITS INSANE EARNING LESS THAN 70K AND SAVING FOR A CEREMONY THAT WON'T LAST MORE THAN A DAY.... PLAN B THAT WE STICK TO OTHER PALLIATIVE MEASURES PROPOUNDED IN THE BACKGROUND OF PRUDENCY, A BUDGET OF 100K WILL BE SO APPROPRIATE AND I PROMISE YOU 3 SQUARE MEALS TILL DEATH DO US PART.. THANKS YOURS IN LOVE COMMITTED BOYFRIEND Thanks OP for sharing this with us! Nice job... 5 Likes |

Herzumpther: Lol gurl. It pain me plenty that I did not see this thread sooner. But the amount for makeup is not much in my opinion oh. It is very fair if you ask me. Seriously! I had no idea you could get top notch makeup for as low as that amount. Even the gown n accessories, really cheeeap! Did she rent the gown? Hmmmm. Sis, I beg of thee, no white powder n lip gloss nansense on that day. 1 Like |

Evina:Dear read the list again, she said 15k for bride's accessories, 30k for makeup 5k for my Hubby's suit and using some of his old stuff. My sister is the wedding all about the bride? My Hubby's big day that will only happen once in his life time he should use 5k suit and some old stuff while I look new all round?. The op should fear God na, a wedding is for 2 and not one and both bride and groom should look good. Honestly a makeup shouldn't be more expensive than the the Bride's accessories or even the groom's. All na paint paint and go clean before you say jack. Don't worry dear, when the time comes I will know how to do my makeup but I will myself. I love my simple look just as I look on my profile picture now. |

Your budget is even too high and yet you couldn't manage the funds properly... the funds are wasted on some certain things.... Take for example venue :open field 50thousand its too much 10-30 thousand naira would do Make up just the bride 30 k with 15k you can make up both the bride and her bridal girls....intact the bride should do the make up herself or her bridal girls or even a family member... no need to waste such amount of money on make up. PHOTOGRAPHY- N80,000 (full event coverage, one photobook, pre-wedding shoot, one DVD of all the pictures) Photographer: Xtrm Creations ...... Another waste of money with 50 K you can achieve that ...how much is picture 150 per copy... DVD is not only one or two CD plates that would be produced.... So you end up even saving more 32 k for ushers na waste of money call all the young girls from your extended family... dash them 5k each....you end up saving 12k from the 32k for trained ushers.....no be to serve food and drinks and welcome guests... what's the big deal 1 Like |

Herzumpther: Sweetie, I didn't get to see a picture of you on your profile. Nevertheless, a lady should get excellent makeup done, especially on her wedding! A MUST! Fantastic makeup is NOT about a display of colours on the face! You can get a natural look with makeup! Also gurl, as regards what was spent on the bride and groom, it was their choice. The Bride's look is usually more expensive than the groom's, that's stale news. I mean, guys get a hair cut for 1k (at least that's how much he spends on his cut) but the cheapest hair I can have done: the weave, (I'm sure you know how much a good weave costs) and the fixing will cost some five digits. Then you have others... My headtie alone for trad costs 15k. Me I no even know the kind headtie! All I know be say, my mum in law to be insist say na that headtie I must tie and she buy am herself. So, it depends on the couple and what they can afford! What I won't tolerate is having big eye and long throat when you ain't got the bills. Don't start making elaborate plans and delude yourself into thinking there are people who are obligated to pay the bills. And also don't use up all your savings for your wedding! That's just being financially dumb! 2 Likes |

Herzumpther: I know you reacted to the list dear. I know a couple, the girl spent 150k on make up. Hair was about 55k. Wedding dress $850. Reception gown. $450. Not sure about shoes n accessories. Her hubby didn't spend up to half of what was spent on her. LOL. And they were both so pleased! I think many men don't mind their brides looking ALL new and shimmering, especially if they can afford it. So you picking a date soon? Wowzies You go gurl! I need a dancing smiley! Seun please give us a dance smiley Congrats babes! Have you started the ginger+lemon detox yet? |

Thank you everyone for your contributions and comments. Our company is all about low budget weddings in Nigeria and helping couples save wedding costs. We believe a wedding does not have to be expensive to be memorable. You can follow our blog on www.justbudgetweddings..com to get regular updates on promos, great deals and wedding packages. You can also contact us directly on 08103193930 xbernardx:LMAO! Yes, SMS alone is sufficient for the 100 guests. At the rate of N4 per sms, you would have spent just N400. You can use the remaining to resend or even call important people. As for the wedding gown, we omitted the fact that it was rented. For N10,000 to N15,000 you can rent a very decent wedding gown. helphelp:It all depends on how realistic you are with your expectations. And most importantly, your guest list. We specialize in Low Budget Weddings. Contact us 08103193930 olrotimi:EXACTLY!!! williams20:This is exactly what we have been preaching! olrotimi: Herzumpther:30k for makeup is actually a VERY good deal considering that professional makeup artists usually change from 60k up to 250k and above. kika23:Exactly!!! Not even only Jide of stOla. All the big makeup artists in Nigeria charge similar prices; we have done our research. watered:We love low cost vendors, as long as they don't compromise on quality. Please contact us on 08103193930 and let's discuss on how to work together. LewisO:Please follow our blog at www.justbudgetweddings..com We regularly list promos, deals and low cost vendors. Thank you IdJack:Yes, you can use friends/sisters, but family members might not do the job as effectively. (for example, their attention might be need for other things) Besides, for this particular bride, we were already using two of her sisters as event coordinators. Lastly, ushers add a touch of glamour, class and orderliness to your event. It is usually money well-spent. Otes26:If you know a caterer that can supply for at N300-400, please let us know! Evina:Well said! |
