2 to 8 doesn't applied to Northeners abroad. You only got 1 and probably 4 right. These are Southerners/lagosians behaviours to an extent. |

GboyegaD:. Abi o. These are just stereotype, with some correlation with some Southern Nigerians. Northern people I know can be easily mistaken for East Africans or other West Africans, except you hear them speak. I think we use "typical Lagos style" to assume all Nigerians are like that. Accent, rather than volume of speech is more like it. 3 Likes |

Do Nigerians often wear traditional attire abroad? Do we go about with our green passport everywhere? If at all we hold parties, are we the only ones that party around? How can u even say that Nigerians are loud? Ur write up is not creative and convincing...I didn't get ur point 1 Like |

You are so right. However, to a great extent it applies mostly to Yoruba's abroad. No offence lovely Yoruba people . You must spot them if they are around you esp. No. 2,3, 6&7. On the bus, Train station, Peckham and Woolwich in London is their second home especially the hair dressers . One day a lady walked* up to me and spoke Yoruba, and they think every black person abroad is from Yoruba . I was like excuse me Straight up Rivers babe please................... 2 Likes |

ksmiles: When I first saw this topic I thought it would be interesting but I have to say, its d dumbest post dat has ever made it to front page. Here's why: 1. Our traditional attires are very unique (Really?? The majority of Nigerians abroad don't go everyday with their traditional attire, how den do you depend on this to spot them, ehn oga op?) 2. Nigerians are very loud (which means with this you can never spot any Nigerian who's alone and not talking and is dis really specific to Nigerians) 3. We are very flamboyant (Only when we are in Nigeria, its only d super rich who live flamboyantly even abroad) 4. Nigerians love Football (More than English?) 5. Our passports are green in colour (to spot a Nigerian by this, he/she must be holding their passport then) 6. Pidgin English is our signature (if you hear them talk, right?) 7. Nigerians love Owanbe Parties (dis one no even join sef) 8. We are ‘selfie’ enthusiasts (only us?) Na only God knw why dis post dey 1st page. 2 Likes |
