so they got 2k first then later they got 98k which makes it 100k. What 1 k is he looking for again? He did not borrow 97 k. He borrowed 98k and bought the laptop for 97 and kept 1k in his pocket.

Why would I borrow 100k when all I needed was 97k. I'll simply borrow 49k from my dad and 48k from my mum. That's my 97k.
