ENUGU — With five days to the presidential election, fresh indications emerged, yesterday, that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate, President Goodluck Jonathan, may have lost ground for a bloc vote in the South East geo-political zone. This is even as the apex Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, endorsed Jonathan which had received the bashing of groups and individuals across the Igbo nation. Speaking on last Friday’s endorsement of All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate,General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) by Igbo leaders in the 19 northern states and Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, under the aegis of Igbo Delegates Assembly, IDA,urging him to rescue the country from being run aground by Jonathan. Op, forget that man. He's a frustrated man. He's not known in Igbo land. In Anambra state, APC doesn't exist. In Abia, APC deputy governor flag bearer dumped APC for PDP, In Ebonyi it's 100% for PDP, in Enugu, APC doesnt exist and in Imo state, PDP is giving APC a hard fight.. Arrant nonsense from Osita Okechukwu. This is a subtle threat and it has no place in politics. Let's assume for a second that Buhari wins, and Ndigbo did not give him 25%, what will he do that Ndigbo have not seen since 1970? This is absolutely a stupid statement for God's sake! What is wrong with this primitive people masquerading as politicians? Buhari has in the past denied the South East valuable infrastructure when he was in uniform and many more without regrets. Or is he this time going to withhold the federal allocation due to the states in the SE or what? So what is the basis for all these threats. Ndigbo are renowned survivalists and will as usual out live a Buhari presidency. No matter what, they'll still maintain their commercial and economic pride in Nigeria.
