If information about Skye Bank Plc reaching Aproko247 is anything to take serious, then the fire on the mountain, which is presently giving shareholders and depositors of the bank sleepless nights, may spell doom. In fact, as it is being discussed in hush tones within the financial instituion, if nothing serious is promptly done to save situation of things at hand, Skye Bank might eventually join the league of Savana Bank.

Recall that in December 2014, the Managing Director of Skye Bank, Tunde Ayeni, donated the sum of N2 billion to the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan. He made the donation at a dinner organised in Abuja to raise money for Jonathan's re-election campaign. For those who still remember the issue vividly, shortly after he took that action, he was highly criticised by the bank's shareholders, who felt it was wrong for Ayeni to publicly align Skye Bank with a political party.

Some of his critics claimed Skye Bank may suffer if President Goodluck is defeated at the poll.

As if those who were against Ayeni's action had already seen what would happen at the poll, President Jonathan lost his re-election bid to the opposition, Muhammadu Buhari, candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, at the March 28, 2015 presidential election.

This has now raised more uncertainty in the bank.

A source within Skye Bank informed theoctopusnews.com that most of the bank's shareholders and depositors do not know what will become of the financial institution in tthe next administration.

One of their fears is also on the safety of their investments with the bank, even when the flamboyant lifestyle of Ayeni is nothing to write home about. Ayeni has been accused by some people of dipping his wide hands into the bank's purse, a claim Aproko247 has not independently confirmed.

Whether Skye Bank will be in the good books of Buhari's regime and some states that will be controlled by the APC is another thing some of the shareholders are not sure of.

They should go and take over Osun and Ekiti State government house because these two states are trying to liquidate that bank through excessive borrowing
