Why So Much Hate Towards Igbos? by Nobody: 8:49am On Apr 06, 2015 |
As I was reading the thread about the Oba of Lagos threatening the igbos I failed to understand his reasoning and I fail to understand why there's so much hate for this one tribe. Why fight a 3 year war to keep the same people you hate in the same country with you? Why not just let us go? Why keep us here with you? 2 Likes |

I believe if you love others, others will love you regardless of where you are coming from. You know what fulanis are capable of, but does that make people hate fulaman or Buhari? You know what the Yoruba were capable of, but does that make Nigerians to hate Osinbajo? You know what Igbos are are capable of, but does that make people hate Okorocha? Don't hide under tribal sentiment, be yourself and people will decide what you are. Some Igbos won elective offices in Lagos, You fail to read the ones that will make you feel good about others. |

Abdulleeh: So basically, if a people do not go with the candidates you like, the rational thing is to use hate speech and ugly threats towards them? Really doesn't sound like a democracy to me. 4 Likes |

Radoillo: No. I don't have issues with who you choose. I hate to indulge in hate speeches especially the ones that have to do with tribe and religion. However, as a Nigerian who wants to see that this country moves to a greater position, it baffles me why a certain group or tribe will want to align itself with what has made Nigeria a country full of mockery. Please can you enlighten me on why majority of the easterners chose to have a different view of how Nigeria should move? |

Abdulleeh: Not just 'easterners' or 'a certain group or tribe'. The majority of south-southerners toe the same political line as the easterners. Though people hardly ever notice them. It's always the easterners. In any case, I do not have an answer. I'm no political analyst. I suspect the answer lies in the political history of this country, and the deep suspicions existing between its sections. 2 Likes |
