I first heard this where I am undergoing my teaching practice in a public school in Ogijo, Ogun state.

I was so amazed and elated of been a son of the land.

In Osun State, radio and TV stations play it and the English version as well as the state anthem (Omo Oduduwa dide. Bo si . . .) before and close of transmission.

They started already! check 2 out of the first 5 comments said they should translate it to ibo. They always want to compete with Yoruba, forgetting that the journey that took dogs 100 years is a pleasure jog for horses!

BabaO2:

They will soon claim ownership of that sweet Yoruba version. Or Yoruba should withdraw it to give them time if they could come up with ibo version otherwise they will soon start the cry of marginalization

Blackchampion:
National Anthem
Arise, O compatriots
Nigeria's call obey
To serve our Fatherland
With love and strength and faith.
The labour of our heroes past
Shall never be in vain,
To serve with heart and might
One nation bound in freedom, peace and
unity.
.
O God of all creation
Direct our noble cause
Guide our leaders right
Help our youth the truth to know
In love and honesty to grow
And live in just and true
Great lofty heights attain
To build a nation where peace
And justice shall reign.
.
National Pledge
The Pledge is recited immediately after the
National Anthem
I pledge to Nigeria my country
To be faithful, loyal and honest
To serve Nigeria with all my strength
To defend her unity, and uphold her honour
and glory
So, help me God.

Knowing how numerous the options of translating into Yoruba language are, whoever did this did an excellent job! He, she or they should be identified and appreciated.
