I Am An Art Student: Can I Study Computer Science by Nobody: 7:44am On Apr 09, 2015
hello guys... I got a lil problem here...

Don't know if its my fault or destiny that I found myself in the art class..

I should have been a science student cause even without being one I got so much knowledge about tech, programs, and its my dream to become a computer programer..

I cant have a full knowledge unless I study this computer science in school...
please do polytechnics accept students without science subjects to study computer science...
I went through the brochure and compulsory subjects were English and maths...

somebody please advise... I'm getting a change of course today...

The big answer is yes, but believe you me, it is not an easy road, but never say never; you have five options:
1a. Start preparing for a new WAEC/GCE examination with science subjects.
b. Start preparing for a new JAMB examination with right subject combinations.
2. There are some schools (Universities/Polytechnics/Colleges of Education/Monotechics/A'level/e.t.c) that combines the study of Computer with other courses which require little or no science background e.g Economics/Computer.
3. Being a programmer is not limited to a Computer students only, all you need is certifications, trainnings, e.t.c in recognised "places", but you have to be good to be recognise (considering your background as an art student).
4. After your University education as an art student, you can still pursue your dream:
(a) Postgraduate studies in Computer
(b) A second degree in Computer.
5. This is not an option but advice, studying computer is more than programming, there are other branches (networking, hardware, software, theories, e.t.c). The phase you are passing through is just euphoria/joy of programming that will elapse with time. Take this, your best bet will be to further in art courses and take option 3 or you can take option 2 entirely.
