Following her failure to get President Jonathan and the ex-head of state, Gen Abdulsalam Abubakar secure a soft landing deal for her from Gen Buhari last weekend, Nigeria’s controversial petroleum minister, Mrs Diezani Alison Madueke has fled the country to the United Kingdom.

Naij.com is reporting that a reliable source in the presidential villa said that “madam had to take off far ahead of the inauguration of the government of Gen Buhari because she is scared he may turn his searchlight on the oil sector.” Ironically, the minister who is widely known to travel around in private jets had to travel this time in the first class cabin of the British Airways flight.

When contacted to confirm the minister’s whereabouts, one of her aides who asked for anonymity confirmed Alison-Madueke indeed left the country on Monday morning but gave a different reason for the trip. According to the minister’s aide “it is true the Hon. Minister traveled but she went to take care of her health because she has been down medically and she needs proper medical attention.”

Asked when the minister will be back in the country, the aide said “no one can say when she will be back. That depends on her health and the advice of her doctors. She may come before May 29, she may decide to stay back with her children over there till anytime to take care of herself.”

Mrs Alison-Madueke is yet to account for the $20 billion which the former CBN governor and now Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi has continued to insist was diverted from the federation account by the minister and her cronies in the NNPC.

Buhari should first arrest Tinubu and Fashola for emptying Lagos treasury into their private accounts. He should also arrest Amaechi and Rochas for all the money they have been stealing from their states' accounts to finance APC's campaigns.

Anything short of arresting these men first will simply mean that Buhari will be selective in his supposed fight against corruption and will be strongly resisted.

Add everything they stole it won't be upto 1/4 of what that woman stole. Besides, what proof do you have? Lagos has been an opposition state. Why can't you just use your head for ones?

When you keep talking about Tinubu/Fashola emptying Lagos Treasury then how exactly is Lagos far ahead in terms of development than the rest of the country undecided Any state that is being looted dry usually is in shambles e.g Kaduna, Kano (under Shekarau).

Anyway you can make comments online all you want but if Buhari is to actually probe all these people like Allison what exactly are you gonna do about it? Since it seems you people have some syndrome of celebrating corruption.

Even if what they stole is #1, is that a reason to spare them and arrest the opponents??

And if I may ask, what proof do you have that the minister stole a whooping $20b from the nation's account?
I think you are the one that needs to use your head.

If all the revenues and allocations coming into Lagos is actually used for developmental projects, Lagos will become Nigeria's version of Taiwan. But no, Tinubu and his cohorts have been looting the state dry since 1999 while you sheepishly follow him, thinking that you are pulling a hair off the skin of the igbos by so doing.
I visit Lagos almost on weekly basis and I know how underdeveloped the state is compared to other famous cities of the world, yet you and your likes are not seeing anything wrong with the leadership of the state?
Lol at lagos being far ahead of the rest of the country in terms of development. I wonder the yardstick you used to arrive at that conclusion. Perhaps you think that being overpopulated equals development. FYI, whatever glory Lagos enjoys today is a result of the efforts made in the past to develop the state when it was the country's capital city. Whenever I visit Lagos and see old houses built in the 70s still everywhere, I cry for the state. And yet you can't see anything wrong with the state? Smh
