Now, the elections are over, let's get down to business. Everyone of us has a reason why they voted in General Muhammadu Buhari to lead this country. Let us use this medium and tell Mr President Elect so.

For me,

1. Employment Generation is key, not by employing people directly into the Government agencies, but granting them financial and technical facilities to engage in enterpreneurship. Programs like Youwin for business startup, and funds for Agriculture setup should not be scrapped but restructured and boosted for higher capacity. Every graduate in Nigeria should be able to access credit facility to engage in Agriculture based business or technology and manufacture based business. Funds generated from subsidy fraud elimination should be used for this, this means, almost 3 trillion naira can be committed into this project which can empower up to 500,000 to 1 million businesses annually. If we have been doing fine without this money since years now, and still government can do little with the amount of fraud going on in other sectors of the economy, then this is achievable

2. Electricity: This is another area that will potentially generate thousands of jobs. The privatization exercise should be pursued with absolute strictness like the Telecom sector was done.

3. Research: Every state should be encouraged to develop a structure that encourages research, including gigantic e-libraries, research centers, and funding for research in medicine, technology, agriculture etc. If we must develop as a nation, then government must encourage research and assist in funding it for the development and harnessing of our resources

4. Petroleum: Refineries must be built, i advise this is not done by government, but by investors. If government decides to own some stake, fine, but either way, we need more refineries to refine our internal capacity and also export petrol, not crude.

5. Security Network and Public service Reform: WE need our working systems back. Till now, there's no central memorable access number like 911 for the police? Its a shame. Nevertheless, we need to get back to business and develop these systems, retrain our workforce, detach all uniformed policemen from politicians and put them to work, employ more technology based non-uniform security staff and reform the attitude of our policemen. Gone should be those days.

There are so much to be done, and we trust the President Elect knows this! Add Yours Please!

He should just look at nigeria as non oil producing country and create an enabling environment for mechanized agricultural farming, processing and exportation which is one the areas Nigeria has a competitive advantage.
To achieve this:
(1) He should subsidise agricultural machine and materials.
(2) Offer loan and grants to interested farmers in form of. youwin but should punish who ever misuse his grants to deter and discourage national cake mentality.
