The Conservative party have picked Nigerian born Festus Akinbusoye, as their candidate for the West Ham parliamentary constituency in London. Mr. Akinbusoye has an uphill task before him, to win the election and represent his constituency at Westminster he has to beat other candidates and the incumbent MP, Labour’s Lyn Brown, who has a majority of 22,534. Created in 1997, West Ham constituency is one of the safest Labour seats in the whole of the UK, where over 70% of the electorates support Labour. Festus Akinboye migrated from Nigeria and has been living in the constituency for over 20 years according to his profile on the Conservative Party website. Mr. Akinboye has served as an LEA School Governor, mentored young offenders and set up business as an employer in the area.
