malvisguy212: Still baloney. First, you are still conceding that the bible, god's inspired and dictated works, are confusing due to translation issues. This is a good start at being truthful. Bravo. Second, where are the original transcripts or manuscripts from whence we got these confusing translations? Who had them last, when? If any part of the bible is mistranslated, then shouldn't the entire work be suspect, and not to be relied upon? 2 Likes |

plaetton:there are thousands of manuscripts, you can visit the London museum and the vertican, when you read the English translations and are confused, search the web for the original meaning of the KEY word and when you do, it will clear your doubt. |

Pr0ton: Absolutely nothing wrong with the narratives. Requires just a bit of common sense, you don't even need to be spiritual or a scholar. Also important is the fact that the significant parts of the narrative is very clear; that Paul a sinner met the Lord on his way to Damascus and received the gift of eternal life and a commission as an apostle. The first query on stand or fall is simple. When someone falls, it's common logic for him to stand up again. You don't need a PhD to figure that. They fell seeing the light and later stood. Paul meanwhile was having a conversation before verse 7. On hearing and not hearing, it's common language. I can hear you and yet not hear you. Like on phone or due to far distance, I can hear your voice and still say "sorry I can't hear you, speak louder or repeat your statement. That isn't a lie or contradiction. Even when giving instructions, one can ask "do you hear?" Meaning, is that clear. 1 Like |

Ok so Paul made a blunder! He's only human, haba! free the guy! What does it prove? The bible is written by blundering authors who do not proofread their works, so what? After all, we serve a great big God that is the master of confusion and contradiction. Deal with it! 1 Like |

Pr0ton:there is no contradiction, the reason you say this is because you do not read the bible for enlightening instead you are looking for argument in it.I hear a voice and do not understand,it better to say 'I do not hear a voice'. 1 Like |

malvisguy212: So there are different ways of reading a book? Which ways did you read your books to understand and pass your exams while in school? Now, are you saying that the wat one reads the bible in one's Bible Knowledge course is quite different from the way reads same Bible during Sunday school? |
Re: Can Christians Ever Reconcile This Contradiction? by malvisguy212: 3:53pm On Apr 23, 2015 |
plaetton:the bible is not a text book, there are many forestshadowing event that you need the holy spirit to teach you, the old testament forestshadow event that will happened both in the new testament and present generation, but if you read this with a bias mind, you will never understand it. 1 Like |

How's this for reconciling the differences? They heard a voice. The voice they heard was not necessarily the 'voice of him that spake to me'. Maybe they heard Paul's voice responding but in their discombobulated state of mind they couldn't tell it was him, they just heard a kind of booming all around. |
Re: Can Christians Ever Reconcile This Contradiction? by plaetton: 4:29pm On Apr 23, 2015 |
malvisguy212: WTF ! So, the bible was neither inspired nor written for ordinary folks like me, not to mention folks with a curious skeptical mind? So one has to believe in Jesus first, before one gets to read about the teachings of Jesus in bible ? That is a new and interesting twist to what is already confusing. 1 Like |

malvisguy212: The holy spirit in the Quran is not the one that lead christianity to over 44000sects, not the one that inspired the anonymous writers of the bible to write inconsistent and contradictory fables. |

Now that you followed my advice, everything will go smoothly for you. Just tell them it's holy spirit and that answers questions you can't explain 1 Like 1 Share |
