The movement of heavy duty trucks and containers should be restricted to night time since the truck owners cannot strap these containers safely to the vehicles. This was the practice when Marwa was governor in Lagos.

How can a container fall off a bloody trailer if it has been correctly secured.

From the picture it does not seem like the lorry/trailer rolled over, whoever passed that container as secured and safe for transport should be arrested including the driver and owner for negligence if culpable of putting a sub-par vehicle on the road.

Nigeria needs to develop a system of checks and balances, frequent vehicular checks are needed, maybe every 2 years

Many large Vehicle drivers are very careles and wicked. They do not fasten the goods and drive as if they are rambo just because when shit hits the fan, they hardly get hurt. I lost someone some 3yrs ago cos the door of a container carried by a lorry flung open in motion and hit the guy in the head. He was standing by the road side waiting for for a taxi When this horrible accident took his life.

These containers are supposed to be bolted To the truck. But what we find in most cases are containers loosely placed on top of the truck. When the truck tilts due to pot holes, the container will fall off. Safety officers at the port should be alive to their responsibility.
