Jesus called the attention of His followers to the inner realm of mind, the kingdom of God substance. He pointed out that the lilies of the field were gloriously clothed, even finer than Solomon in all his glory. We do not have to work laboriously in the outer to accomplish what the lily does so silently and beautifully. Most of us rush around trying to work out our problems for ourselves and in our own way, with one idea, one vision: the material thing we seek. We need to devote more time to silent meditation and like the lilies of the field simply be patient and grow into our demonstrations. We should remember always that these substance ideas with which we are working are eternal ideas that have always existed and will continue to exist, the same ideas that formed this planet in the first place and that sustain it now.

In following the principles of mathematics we use rules. There is a rule of addition that we must observe when we add; other rules that must be followed when we subtract or multiply. The ideas of Divine Mind can only be expressed when we follow the rules or laws of mind, and these rules require understanding if we would follow them intelligently and achieve results.

The Law of Thinking

I. Introduction.

For as a man thinks in his heart, so is he

A. We live in a universe ruled by a God who is not capricious. God is not erratic, inconsistent or arbitrary.

B. What defines our lives is not the environment of our childhood, our present bank account, whom we know, etc., but our alignment with the Laws of the Universe.

C. The Law of Thinking anchors all the other laws and is fundamental to man’s success in every endeavor.

D. Everything coming into our lives we’ve attracted with and through our thinking.

E. None of us can get better at anything until we make up our minds to improve, and then align our thinking with the thoughts (laws) of God.

F. The Law of Supply, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you,” (Matthew 7:7) is available to each one of us. However, for most of us this law is muted by our thinking and made null and void by unbelief because we do not think like God (the Law) thinks

Isaiah 55:7-8 “Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD . . . For my thoughts are not your thoughts . . .” (KJV) But God desires our thoughts to be His thoughts!

G. There is something within you that is greater than any problem outside of you. It’s called the Kingdom of God. But seek first the kingdom of Good thoughts and all these things shall be added to you


What is “Thinking?”

Look at the cross, behold Christ on the cross with bruises all over him, holes in arms and legs. Look at Him, holy and blameless, lamb. Lonely. You can't find any trace of smile on his face. Forsaken. He is not just a good man, He is perfect that there is no guile found in Him. Not even one. If there is, hanging there on that cross wont be His lot. Look at Him, bearing on his body the consequences of "our" sins. All "our" sins! All! Not one is allowed to slide. It is a painful death. Need i say it is not deserved. He didn't commit a crime but wicked men and women like us are crying "crucify him!!!" Is Jesus not able to come down from that cross? He raised Lazarus from the dead after all! "save yourself king of the jews!!!" Now someone is shouting! More wails and cries that amidst that no one remembered that "The temple MUST be destroyed and built in 3 days" "That the saviour must of need suffer" "That the good shepherd must lay His life down for His sheep" "That the ONLY way they can live is through death"

There was only one thing that took Jesus to Golgotha and that one thing was what kept Him there on the cross till He took in the full wrath of God. And it was His ETERNAL LOVE for His people. His people were all on their way to eternal damnation cos of one thing. You guessed it, sin. One sin was enough for God to call it off with man! When Jesus hung on that cross, it was to pay for this sin, this sin that caused men to hate God, was atoned for, for ever! God cannot punish any of His people for their sins again! If He did Christ died in vain. He cannot punish twice for the same sin. All His people's sins He has paid for through the death of Christ. Here is the summary, their salvation judgement has taken place on the cross already. They are saved for ever and sealed with that Holy spirit of promise.

What is “Thinking?”
1.We’re talking about the emotional mind the feelings and not just the intellect.

2.We’re referring to deeply held convictions,beliefs,paradigms, attitudes,strongly held points of view things we feel passionately about which tend to dominate the thought patterns of our minds.

3.We are not talking about superficial or fleeting thoughts which have minimal passion or force behind them,and which do not have lengthy “residence” time occupying our mind,will and emotion
“We attract only what we think or create; this is the Law of Thinking.”

The Law requires that we must first think things into existence from within, before we can see them in out ward physical manifestation. Everything we see in creation was first created as a thought before it became a“thing The thought is the“blueprint”from which the final“thing”was constructed. Whatever we think about,we bring about. Those things we are continually holding in mind, especially with an elevated degree of passion or conviction,are the things we are drawing into our lives. They are being“constructed”just as surely as the new house next door to us is being constructed,just as the new business you intend to start up or the business which you do presently. Soon they will appear invisible manifestation as we continue to tenaciously and passionately cling to that which we are holding in mind and continually “thinking”about.

A successful man is always asked—“What is the secret of your success?” People never ask a man who is a failure,“What is the secret of your failure?”It is quite easy to see and they are not interested .People all want to know how to open the secret door of success. For each man there is success,but it seems to be behind a door or wall. In the Bible reading,we have heard the wonderful story of the falling of the walls of Jericho;of course all biblical stories have a metaphysical interpretation. We will talk now about your wall of Jericho :the wall separating you from success nearly everyone has built a wall around his own Jericho. This city you are not able to enter,contains great treasures;your divinely designed success,your heart’s desire! What kind of wall have you built around your Jericho? Often,it is a wall of resentment—resenting someone,or resenting a situation, shuts off your good. If you are a failure and resent the success of someone else,you are keeping away your own success.

A woman was filled with envy because a friend had received a gift, she made this statement,and an exact duplicate of the gift was given her—plus another present. It was when the children of Israel shouted,that the walls of Jericho fell down. When you make an affirmation of Truth,your wall of Jericho totters. I gave the following statement to a woman: The walls of lack and delay now crumble away,and I enter my Promised Land, undergrace. She had a vivid picture of stepping over a fallen wall, and received the demonstration of her good,almost immediately. It is the word of realization which brings about a change in your affairs;for words and thoughts area form of radio-activity. C. Thoughts are things. “Your thoughts are physical things. Your thinking and your thoughts are Biological;your thoughts are electro chemical impulses. They can be seen,they can be measured. They literally can be touched. They can be examined,they are real,and they are physical. Your mind is what your brain does. It is a basic,vital important understanding and discovery that they(your thoughts)are electro chemical energy and that if you understand the functioning of your brain,you will mind your brain. Thoughts are things
Science is working with thought,experimenting and collecting data, and certain scientists in the vanguard of progress can hardly restrain themselves from publishing their conviction that thoughts can be felt and measured,analyzed and described,as heat and electricity have been,by their effects. But science is conservative. It is philosophy,acknowledging intuition as a factor in acquiring knowledge,that will keep men abreast of the times and be the handmaiden of the new thought and theology,whose influence can no longer be denied. Suffice it for us to know that all over. the world men and women are proving that thoughts are the greatest forces and substances upon the whole earth;that thoughts can be read and their vibrations felt most distinctly;that thoughts create atmospheres that are attractive or repellent according to their character. It is a crying necessity for men to be educated in this field so that they may not be exploited by the unscrupulous,nor fall into the error of such exploitation themselves,but may rather joinin using the great thought forces that make for righteousness;that is, for-the-health and happiness,wealth and freedom–of their neighbors as well as themselves.

The Power of Praise and
Thanksgiving

Praise means to express approval and appreciation for what is taking place. To praise with understanding means to acknowledge that, at the end of the day, God, the King of all creation, will allow nothing to happen in our lives, except it be for our good in further conforming us to the image of His Son.

Words are also seeds, and when dropped into the invisible spiritual substance, they grow and bring forth after their kind. "Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?" Farmers and gardeners choose their seed with the greatest care. They reject every defective seed they find and in this way make sure of the coming crop. To have prosperity in your home and in your business you will have to exercise the same intelligent discrimination in the choice of your seed words.

You should expect prosperity when you keep the prosperity law.

Therefore, be thankful for every blessing that you gain and as deeply
grateful for every demonstration as for an unexpected treasure
dropped into your lap. This will keep your heart fresh; for true
thanksgiving may be likened to rain falling upon ready soil,
refreshing it and increasing its productiveness.

Someone called me up recently and said, “I am looking desperately
for a position.” I replied, “Don’t look desperately for it, look for it
with praise and thanksgiving, for Jesus Christ, the greatest of
metaphysicians, said to pray with praise and thanksgiving.” Praise
and thanksgiving open the gates, for expectancy always wins.
Of course, the law is impersonal, and a dishonest person with rich
thoughts will attract riches—but, “a thing ill-got has ever bad
success,” as Shakespeare says. It will be of short duration and will
not bring happiness.

Praise what you have, be it ever so little, and insist that it is
constantly growing larger.

Through an inherent law of mind, we increase whatever we praise.

The whole creation responds to praise, and is glad. Animal trainers
pet and reward their charges with delicacies for acts of obedience;
children glow with joy and gladness when they are praised. Even
vegetation grows best for those who praise it. We can praise our
own abilities, and our very brain cells will expand and increase in
capacity and intelligence when we speak words of encouragement
and appreciation to them.
When we praise the richness and opulence of our God, this thoughtstuff. is tremendously increased in our mental atmosphere; it reflects
into everything that our minds and our hands touch. When common
things are impregnated with our consciousness of divine substance,
they are transformed according to our ideals. Through persistent
application of the Judah faculty, a failing business proposition can be
praised into a successful one. Even inanimate things seem to receive
the word of praise, responding in orderly obedience when, before,
they have seemed unmanageable.

A woman used the law on her sewing machine, which she had been
affirming to be in good order. It gave her no trouble afterward. A
linotype operator received a certain spiritual treatment given him
by a healer at a certain hour, and his linotype, which had been acting badly, immediately fell into harmonious ways. A woman living in a
country town had a rag carpet on her parlor floor; she had for years hoped that this carpet might be replaced by a better one. She heard of the law and began praising the old carpet. Greatly to her surprise, inside of two weeks she was given a new carpet from an unexpected source.

Turn the power of praise upon whatever
you wish to increase. Give thanks that it is now fulfilling your ideal.

The faithful law, faithfully observed, will reward you. You can praise
yourself from weakness to strength, from ignorance to intelligence,
from poverty to affluence, from sickness to health. The little lad with
a few loaves and fishes furnished the seed that, through the prayer
and thanksgiving of Jesus, increased sufficiently to feed five
thousand people.


Do not magnify obstacles; magnify the Lord—that means, magnify
God’s power. The average person will dwell on all the obstacles and
hindrances which are there to prevent his good coming to pass. You
“combine with what you notice,” so if you give obstacles and
hindrances your undivided attention, they grow worse and worse.
