Africans and greed for power. Nigerian politics is for the jobless. They simply cant do without the charade, countless number of entourage, scary looking mopol wielding whips. They cant do without the filth and opulence that comes with public office in nigeria. |

There is actually nothing wrong with former governors going to the senate. All over the world, it is a norm and is even encouraged. As at 2012, the US Senate had 10 ex governors in its fold. https://whatwouldspideydo./2012/05/15/why-do-so-few-governors-become-senators/. What worries one though are the motives for their entry; it is as if they cannot stand being outside the corridors of power. While Saraki has been vocal on issues, Akume, Yerima, Adamu and the ones in the senate between 2011-2015 were next to useless. As much as I admire people like Kwankwaso & Akapbio for their developmental efforts; I strongly suspect that they will not be committed to their senatorial duties with most having eyes on the presidency in 2019. As for failures like Jang, Dariye, Ochendo et al; thunder fire them!!!!!!!! 1 Like |

Truckpusher:If they have the affairs of their constituents at heart, they will certainly be a stronger voice that will push for legislations that will empower the people without fear of intimidation. They will also find the job of legislation as a way to re-dedicate their service to a people who have re-elected them the 3rd time after first and second terms as governors. There is always a good side to everyone despite our self-destructive greed. |

Billyonaire:You do have a great point though ,but don't you think that most of them are actually trying to be revelant and possibly block any hammer that might come their way especially if one considers their antecedent while in office as Governors ? |

I don't blame the ex-governors or other greedy politicians. I blame the youths who are politically illiterate and blind, who voted them into power based on bias and cynical political sentiments. while growing up,we where told we are the leaders of tomorrow but now we are being robbed of our today which ought to be our tomorrow by same old leaders of yesterday. I personally do not believe in the 'change' mantra propaganda. The proponents of the mantra don't reflex its true meaning.Recycling old leaders by rotating positions. ALL the politicians don't have the interest of this country at heart.None of them, its sad that with the millions of educated youth,we are so gullible. No patriotism on the part of our leaders, yet some youths clamour for them professing change cuz of the monetary 'change' they get. In all sectors and sphere of this Country, the old people would not let youths have a position to effect change. Even if they allow a youth into a position, he becomes a political puppet(eg Fashola-Tinubu) held by tightly by the strings of Godfatherism or these leaders just pass the baton to their children or relatives like its their hereditary right. I am strongly of the opinion that Nigeria does not need Revolution, Transformation or Change But REFORMATION 1 Like |

Truckpusher:Overall, people tend to change when they leave their seats of power. Because they seem to look at the crystal ball with a different kind of periscope. Our polity will totally change with time, especially if we are able to provide electricity and 21st century transportation to the masses. 24/7 electricity will give both the rich and poor the equal opportunity to watch all episodes of telemundo, will empower the masses to do business and earn income, then transportation like bullet trains will make those who feel that owning an expensive car is luxury to understand that it is stress to stay in traffic. It's about infrastructure not just stomach infrastructure, but social infrastructure. If the ex-governors are really sincere, they are the ones to push for revolutionery changes but except they chose to tow the lanes of the Sarakis and the rest of the imbeciles at the senate whose ambition is to keep accumulating money that they do not even need in order to continually sponsor their useless lifestyles. I feel more at peace than these mor0ns in government payroll. Cos we are free. |

mitnick: Most times not people voting them, they exercise their will against the people of people. Same Ameachi was trying to do in Rivers State by trying to force his puppet dakuku down the throat of Rivers people and they resisted him strongly and he is going about crying fowl and fermenting trouble....his usual behaviour! 1 Like |
