After everyone complied with the directive, they again ordered that every former Biafran account holder will receive only the sum of 20 pounds regardless of how much they had in their account. This I beleived was the most unjustified act of the war as heads of households were forced to rebuild their financial holdings as well as support a typically large african family with only 20 Pounds

They-Nigeria govt asked all Easterners who have got Accounts with Nigeria banks to come forward with their documents but most of these Igbos claimed that they could not find their bank documents to identify themselves as true owners of the Accounts. All in a bid to inflate their balances

At a point, Nigeria govt decided to pay them but as usual, Igbos started inflating the balances of their Accts and that is why it was decided to create more avenues for thousand of Igbos to be employed into Federal Ministries and Parastatals.

All their properties, positions, rent arrears, shops and properties were given back to them in South West.
