cardinal virtues rue in the mire , care-worn in
the phlegm of a dunghill , a loose robe of
honour, stewing in the piggery, stripped of all
glowing hues, by the crabby tarsals that crawl
from idle nooks.

this once droolworthy gowned diamond now
bald of carroty dews, voodooed of flashing
enchanting flames, Of sweet aromatic thyme,
the immaculate milk of his innocence, like the
graceful-shine of a baby smeared with powder,
that oil-dripping cashew. gone are the grace of
this pride, robbed of his new bride!

Wow nice. Okay; cool
My own Version of "Lost Pride." A poem for AFRICA.
------------
The memories still clear in my Deep mind.
Memories of how I lost me.
Sometimes i wish I was born as a still child.
I've lost my pride oh i really have lost me.

The only virtue that I ever had.
For I was a Royal in my own prime.
But now I'm lost and forever sad.
Go Tell the world I died before my own time.

I see sorrow in my teary eye.
Longing to return to my dust side.
'Life is good' is such a thorny lie.
And this is just the story of my "Lost pride"
cry
..............................................
Indeed Africa has lost her pride. cry

Rhapsodic spills which Blares the woebegone plight of a child (Africa) battered and pilloried by sad thoughts of his trampled pride.
the metaphoric use of a child to represent AFRICA underscores the simplicity and emotional aura of your poem as evidenced in the line "for I was a royal in my own prime". also, the metaphoric tone of "I see sorrow in my teary eyes" mirrors a child (Africa) stripped from all virtues of pride and honour As such, is lachrymose over his forlorn spell.

Well done Supernover, The simplicity of your lines too makes understanding effortless.

cheesy thanks a million.
I really Long to see Africa rise again.
For Africa was Raped by the Colonialists.
And we're still Recovering from the awful horror of that singular incidence.
We need to let go and start afresh.
Until then, we're nothing but a lost pride. cry
