The Centre for Black Culture and International Understandings based in osogbo, capital of the western Nigerian state of Osun has flagged off some activities for the new year, with a commemorative world’s tallest drum, among others.

We are not sure whether the centre will seek a place in the Guinness Book of Records for this feat.

This thread reached 3 pages but nobody took note of the bolded. The drum is not built by the state nor by the governor. Smh for those that couldn't comprehend simple statement.

This is no a recent stuff. Its about two years. i think it was during his first tenure. He was paying salaries then as at when due before the economy went moribund courtesy GEJ

I don't engaging people on tribal lines. It's a show of both insensitivity and foolishness for your governor to go about building a useless talking drum when his workers haven't been paid for months. That's what you should get into your head.

the date on the article is 15th Jan 2014, even the link shows 2014, yet some people, who I'm sure didn't read the article decided to display their stewpidity.

another thing is Oshogbo is a tourist hub, and the drum is another tourist attraction. and where there are tourists revenue is generated.
