Asaba, Delta State

Bros these pics Of Asaba are too old. this was when ibori was still in his first tenure.. there is a flyover over that large round about... there are beautiful walkways and the roads are cooler with neat markings. Asaba is prettier than warriors as of now, thanks to companies setting up beautiful structures by the road side.

its late now.. when I go for school runs tomorrow I'll take pos of okpanam road during d hold up.. just hope my engine won't overheat again...

i have not been to yenagoa. but asaba beats many south west cities, especially in the average standard of living. Warri is bigger than asaba and have more infrastrucutures but unfortunately i can't wait to leave warri for asaba because the average regular house of the middle class in asaba is a mansion in warri. also down here(in warri) people build houses the yoruba style, like every inch of the land must be covered , as such you have a slum bearing the title of a city.
am sure u leave in iyarra. Or mami market to spill dis trash. Middle class in asaba a mansion in warri. O boy u high ba.

Do you know the criteria of a city? Look at the dualized road in Asaba, the settlement pattern, the nature of the houses built in the environment, the kind of recreation facilities in the place...

My guy talk truth now... it is far better than sapele...

I reserve my comments

Asaba na fuss and empty town still being developed and patterned.... Abeokuta, Akure, Ibadan, Ikeja, Osogbo... All pass us abeg.. No sentiment... Asaba is still growing...

And as for Yenagoa, they never start..... Just leave them

there has been no development in the south south. that region has been neglected by the government for a long long time. that region feeds the nation, yet there is no place in all that looks anything close to development. the roads are so bad, irrigation is sub-zero, agriculture is lame, the Niger river should have been dredged by now, so most cargoes could arrive there instead of offloading at Apapa. the airport Uduaghan built for children toy planes is one of the most pathetic airports in the world. all companies have their headquarters in the west. The stadium in akwa ibom is simply the highlight of the south south and nothing else.
marginalisation at its peak. i believe pics of crude spillages, water pollution and fire outbreaks could have appeared on here as well
Where do you leave? why not allow those who have been there to comment?

I lice in the south south. Does that answer ur first question? I've been there. Does that answer the second? What do you call development? This is a region that lays the golden egg for the country. And u call an on-going project development? The average man from akwa ibom cannot afford to stay a night in Tinapa. The fact is, I shouldn't be in confrontation with you. You idea of development is what u owe to yourself.

going through your writeup I beg to disagree with you especially in akwa ibom state.am from aka ibom state and u said its only the stadium that is the only thing.
am not sure you have been to akwa ibom.apart from the pish road in akwa ibom.we have the best infrastructure in the country. the list is as follows ibom tropicana,e-library,international airport.international specialist hospital, cottage hospitals all thru the local govt, ongoing construction of sea port at ibaka, independent power project at ikot abasi with 191 mega watts.
beautification of the entire state.A visit to akwa ibom state will beat your imagination.Even we from akwa ibom are taken aback with the development in akwa ibom state.
you can check out akwa ibom transformation on YouTube to confirm .
all the projects are first of its kind and believe me none in Africa.
good write up by you but as for akwa ibom you got it wrong.
thanks and god bless you.
thanks for the update bro. I speak Judging from my last visit. Anyways, if those you mentioned above is development you desire, as a state from which other states are fed, I'll want to rejoice with u on that.

ibadan wey i serve! abeg what is your definition of developed? you think having houses scattered everywhere is development or having population. if that is the case then Nigeria should be viewed as far more developed than canada. i served in ibadan, the sight of mokola alone! please i don't want that kind of development for asaba. You should have noticed from my rant about warri that i wasn't talking about population or just houses here and there. it took me 2 whole months to get a house in ibadan, not because it wasn't available but because i kept turning down the ones my agents offered. the only thing ibadan has is size, when it comes to quality of life it is nothing to write home about. moreover ibadan was worse off before ajimobi, that man did miracles because i couldn't recognise i.b when i went to serve.

now oshogbo is something else, please don't even compare. abeokuta has been remodelled by amosun, so i will accept that. ikeja for crying out loud is lagos, lagos isn't just a south western state it is more of Nigeria's unofficial FCT. Asaba lack roads and buzz but same goes for Abuja, capitals are not meant to have the buzz of commercial centres. A capital is meant to have a well planned township, good roads and decent housing. why do you think the wealthy in onitsha are running to asaba? I agree that asaba isn't what it ought to be and i just pray okowa looks into Asaba's road issue

It's time we southerners stop blaming the government and start holding our governors down to local government chairman responsible for the epileptic development in south south ..if elrufia had embezzled money meant for development of Abuja no city would have seen Abuja as a city to reckon with in terms of infrastructure ..
