Why is it so hard for them to cut down on their emoluments and all the billions they distribute amongst themselves both in the legislative houses and within the executives? They always pass the burden to the ordinary citizen while vigourously maintaining a highly sophisticated type of affluent lifestyle only fit for druglords. The budget of the national assembly needs to be reduced by 2/3 and the size of government needs to be reduced. So many leakages; corruption in the customs, billions of forex on imported petroleum products, illegal mining of solid minerals, incredulous royalties to oil coys/NNPC sleaze, corruption within the ministries and the board of internal reveneu. Nobody is serious about fighting corruption or closing the leaking pipes. They just want the poor guys to offset the bills. Maybe because there is no revolt yet. That is grossly unfair.
