Good one Mr Akpabio, Bye bye from Akwa ibom State government house. It took you 8 yrs to build a 308 bed hospital? thats snail pace of construction. I am only glad that the project has been completed.

It is called tradition, It varies from country to continent. We dont need to copy every western tradition.Nigeria Has a right to its own traditions as long as it is not putting any life at risk.

There is a bit of work left to be done.

Where is the picture you took when you drove past it, to prove the bit of work that needs to be done and also prove that it is not as beautiful?

If commissioning a hospital of this magnitude is what is the problem of this Nation, then your head needs to be examined. I will embrace the any governor that delivers these kind of service, if he likes let him put his photos all over the building as long as it is functioning and helping sick people its good.

How many did your state government build? If not to be using the money to buy weapons for Boko Haram boys to kill innocent people.

Akpabio is in a different class to most Nigerians, talkless of the clueless group called "Nigerian politicians"

Think of the lives that would have been saved if the governor took this as a priority and executed this project under two yrs which was the time frame for the construction. the people had to wait 8yrs for a project that was suppose to take 2yrs max.

The really inexplicable and potentially abandoned project is situated in Akwa Ibom State – right in Uyo; that is the state capital. It is remarkable that all those not too familiar with developments in the state and who only visited AKS once or twice have failed to notice the imposing structure along Ikot Ekpene Road. It is supposed to be world class Specialist Hospital.
Unless rescued by Governor Akpabio’s successor, it might turn out to be a world class abandoned project. Started very early in 2007, the people were promised it would be completed before the end of the governor’s first term. That first tern ended almost four years ago. Meanwhile, several white elephant projects – Ibom Cinema, Stadium, Banquet Hall – had been completed and they now stand empty. There are several reasons why the Specialist Hospital might go the way of the Okene and Ibadan structures.
First, successors don’t want to pay for a contract when the benefits have long been collected by someone else. Second, they instinctively know that the contracts have most probably been inflated and they don’t want to pay the balance of the contract out of the funds entrusted to them.
More to the point, what makes the failure to complete the Uyo Specialist Hospital, in eight years, is the fact that Akwa Ibom State government became the first state to collect over N1 trillion from the Federation Account in four years in the history of Nigeria and it is on course to repeat the same feat from 2011 to 2015. So, why has a very critical service to the people of the state been neglected while billions were thrown into a cesspool called Tropicana Hotel? Lack of funds can certainly not be the excuse.

After 8 years in office and the largest yearly state budget in the history of Nigeria, not a single completed hospital. How long does it take to build 1 single hospital? 8 years and still uncompleted?

The only non road completed project by akpabio in 8 years =

1 Cinema

1 white elephant Football field with no single game played or event since commissioning.

What a sad shame...

Bad belly people haters of progress . Go and enjoy all the infastructure that your governor has so far completed in osun state for you and family.we in akwa ibom are happy with Akpabio s projects. Mean while osun state governor is owning civil servants 10 months salary while his son was caught at the lagos airport trying to smuggle millions of dollars that would have been enough to pay civil servants in the state. here's a sneak peak of the hospital inside shocked shocked

Must you comment when you lack up to date information on the said project.

Seated in Southwest Nigeria especially in Lagos State 365 days in a year without firsthand experience of true state of developments across Nigeria yet criticize everything outside your region or APC controlled.

It's good to read and pass (sometimes) to avoid being a nuisance to flow of information by people on the ground who will argue for and against.

Is the rubbish you posted the reason why akpabio after 8 years in office and the largest budgets in Nigeria delivered only 2 non road projects, 1 cinema and 1 obsolete and white elephant football field?

Is it the reason why after 8 years in office and the largest budgets in Nigeria he's yet to complete 1 single hospital?

Is this the reason why he did not even build 1 single classroom?

Why not just keep quiet if you have nothing sensible to talk about.

If tinubus servant fashola performed as half as Akpabio did in Akwa IBom, Lagos will not be the hot mess it is today.

Wen u have d opportunity, pls do ur best of it. A man changed the entire story of the Akwaibom people. Akwaibom was synonymous with gatekeeping, housemaids, cooks, etc. But today, the story is now different. One day, my dear state will take her place in the global map of recognition. God help me outperform Akpabio when I eventually become my state governor. Amen.
