Lol...defer and try again next year. I'm quite sure there will be more scholarship opportunities next year. You can also try CommonWealth Shared Scholarship, with your grade you stand a very good chance of getting CSS.

CommonWealth Scholarships are of two types:

CFSP- CommonWealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan

and CSS-CommonWealth Shared Scholarship.

The CFSP is administered by Federal Scholarship Board in Nigeria. The FSB acts as the Nominating agency for CFSP. They nominate candidates to CommonWealth for the award. The CFSP is open to all disciplines. The Nigerian factor may come into play here. I guess this was the one you applied for.

The CSS is administered by select universities in the UK and they have specific courses that can apply for CSS through the available UK universities. With a good grade(Preferably a First Class) and good Personal Statement,you stand a very good chance to get it as it is purely on merit.
Though most people that get CSS are First Class grads.

kk, i even applied for the 2 ... the shared tho belongs to first class ppl as u rightly said even tho its opened to 2:1 and the slots are very very few, even with first class that personal statement must be well written

Scholarship or no scholarship, time is counting, ensure you make each day count. By this time next year, will you still be this enthusiastic for a foreign masters degree? I imploy everyone to have alternative plans for the next twelve months that will be a plus to your career and professional prowess, you may even count yourself lucky for not being a beneficiary considering what you would have achieved within this time frame. One attribute of successful people is that they always try to move ahead in the face of difficulty, never hinge all your hopes on one thing. Just my little thought.

Nice words of admonition, bro. Now, to add to this...it's time to move on. Every step forward begins with a firmly planted foot in the past.
Like Abraham Lincoln once said, “I will prepare and some day my chance will come”, even when all hope is gone, God knows our pain and His promise remains. He will be with you always. Life will always be filled with challenging situations as long as we're on earth. It’s best to admit this to ourselves, and decide to be happy anyway: the earlier the better.

Someone said, "We knew what we had, but didn't know we could lose them." Don't wait to lose opportunities to be happy before you realize you should have made the best use of them. Life is not a right, it's a privilege. We may not have gotten the help to start our overseas post-graduate studies this September, but let's remember that God's time is ALWAYS the best and on time. It could happen before next year's in-take by January or September 2016...only God knows. Help could come from anywhere and at anytime...because only God can make a dry fish bend without breaking it. Don't be weary...put your hope on God and not on man. Thank God, and be happy as you face that challenging situation. Where there is life, there is surely a way. Life is beautiful. Enjoy!
