Meet Maha Al Musa, a 52 year old mother who
proudly breastfeeds her six-year-old child and
says she will feed her in the school playground if
her daughter asks for it.
Maha regularly breastfeeds her daughter Aminah
and hasn't immunised her because she believes
strongly in the power of her breastmilk.
The Byron Bay mother was pictured in Woman's
Day on Monday cradling Aminah as she was being
breastfed in a park in her school uniform. Aminah is
normally breastfed too before she goes to bed.
'Sometimes it tastes like candy canes.
It tastes like a lot of different things,' Aminah told
the magazine. It's my favourite thing to do when I'm
not at school. More kids should because it's good
for you.'
Ms Al Musa, openly posts photos of her
breastfeeding her six-year-old on Facebook and
says she enjoys the bonding time with her daughter
as it keeps her vital.
She also told her Facebook followers in February
that breastfeeding her school- aged daughter was
normal. 'Let child and mother choose what's best
for them, their circumstance and family.
If we are all choosing then we are all equal,' she
wrote alongside a photo of her feeding. '4-8 (years)
is NORMAL age for self weaning.' The mother of
three, who lives by a strict Paleo diet, features on

On a serious note;
Who is the WHO to play god and tell women when to stop breastfeeding their children? Not up to two generations ago our mothers used to breastfeed thier kids until well into 7yrs (although they took other foods to supplement), so in the eyes of history it's really nothing new. That baby girl wil be more healthy than most others her age.
