PWC should leave us alone.
They should be telling us about their fraudulent forensic report.

Just imagine if we had about $70 billion in our foreign reserves and ECA!

Unfortunately, Jona and his crew wasted the golden era in our nation's history.

Time for baba to diversify the economy big time.

I was waiting for someone to post something like this.
Since that the reserves were there, what diversification happened in the economy?

What happened was inevitable. Could have even happened in GMB's tenure. We depended solely on 1 thing. Its simple economics. Dont put all your eggs in 1 basket.

Now that we know, what's the next step in order to avoid it. This is what we should be talking about. The solution.

Oil is a curse.

Well, as bad as it is, this piece is based on the condition of 'IF'.

By the way, someone and his cohorts squandered and raped our legitimate resources more than that nw. Abi?

Therefore, myself and all other well meaning Nigerians, await our VOLTRON - Muhammad Buhari to restore transparency, Decorum, Due process and Discipline in the oil sector and other vehicles of government.

Change is a process and it is painful at times. If the loss is the pain process we have to go through to smile again, then SO BE IT.

GOD Bless the Charismatic President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; General Muhamadu Buhari! grin cool

Boot-licking will get you nowhere in this new GMB regime grin grin grin

I don't see this country moving forward if we don't invest rapidly into other sectors like Agriculture, mining, education and adequate power supply to replace crude oil. I wish the oil could vanish now.

You better remove mining cos modern world are moving from it .... Ask Mexico and Napel they will tell you the cost of one earthquake....

This is the time to stop the crazy trend in sponsoring trips to israel and mecca to government officials and their families all in the name of pilgrimage. It gulps billions every yr.it is a personal thing and if you can't afford it, seat your butts at home.

No..time for upper Niger delta to say good bye to Niger Delta's oil...

No...time for all of Nigeria to say bye bye to oil.

Oil money should be used right now only to get the electricity, railways and roads and schools working....everything else can take care of themselves.

And the aim should be to develop an innovative and industrial economy in ten-twenty years...so that we no longer need oil to survive....and that includes the Niger Delta area too.

Because at the rate we are going...oil prices are going to drop. and drop. America is nearly energy independent. Green energy is coming on stream. And one day Nuclear fusion would be developed.

And when all that falls into place....our oil will become redundant...and where will we be? Where would you oil producers be? Crying about how no one wants to buy your oil?

When I say oil is a curse....I mean it. It prevents one from working with his or her hands. Powerful nations are not oil dependent. They are science and technology dependent. And that is where Nigeria should be....not relying on oil money that isn't enough for one state, talkless of one country.

We have been hearing this since 1979

Obasanjo - Operation feed the nation

Shagari - Green revolution

Buhari/Idiagbon - No idea

IBB - Directorate for Food Roads and Rural Infrastructure (DFRRI), Better Life for Rural Dwellers, National Agricultural land Development Agency (NALDA)

Abacha - Family Support Programme (FSP)/ Family Economic Advancement Programme (FEAP)

Obasanjo (2nd leg)- No idea

GEJ - Agric transformation

So long some people see ND oil as their economic mainstay, they will not do any thing to better their lives.

Suggested solution: Stop oil production if price is below $60. That way some lazy Governors and their people will be forced to think.
