I understand that in Nigeria, the Federal government is made up of the Executive, Legislature, & judiciary; all independent.

There is a process for the emergence of the President and Senate President/Speaker.

Why is the Chief Justice (Head of Judiciary) an appointee of the President?
why is there no process to select/elect, by popular vote, the Chief Justice by the members of the Judiciary as is obtained in the other arms of the Federal Government?

My brother there are checks and balances between all three arms of government. Hence the executive appoints the head of the judiciary while the legislature confirms the head of the judiciary.

Can't you see the irony in that?
you expect the judiciary to be independent when it's appointed by executive and confirmed by legislature?
