1. Economics

China’s economy is growing at an impressive rate. But it’s not just the size of an economy that matters—it’s also the quality. According to the World Bank, GDP per capita in the US was $53,042 in 2013; in China it was just $6,807. In other words, little of China’s dramatic economic growth is finding its way into the pockets of Chinese consumers—the byproduct of an economy driven by massive state-owned enterprises rather than private industry. China’s headline growth may be higher, but it’s the U.S. economy that’s allowing its citizens to grow along with it.

And crucially, the American economy remains the bedrock of the global financial system. Over 80% of all financial transactions worldwide are conducted in dollars, as are 87% of foreign currency market transactions. As long as the world continues to place such faith in America’s currency and overall economic stability, the U.S. economy remains the one to beat.

2. Military

America’s military superiority remains unrivaled—full stop. The US accounts for 37% of global military spending, and spends more than four times what China, the world’s No. 2 spender, does on its military. The U.S. dominates across land, sea, air and space. America’s Middle East misadventures gave the U.S. military a black eye, but the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan speak more to the changing nature of warfare than declining U.S. military superiority. Terrorists and guerilla fighters give conventional military powers fits by design. The U.S. must ultimately learn to scale down to better meet those challenges. Nevertheless, while conventional military strength might not deter terrorists, it still does a terrific job of deterring hostile nations.

3. Political Influence

Political power comes in many dimensions. For the U.S., foreign aid is an effective way to cement its political clout globally. In 2013, the U.S. doled out $32.7 billion in financial assistance; second was the UK at $19 billion. Turns out that money buys strong political cooperation from countries in need.
But in order to have political power abroad, you must first have stability at home. The U.S. has the oldest working national constitution in the world, as well as strong institutions and rule of law to accompany it. While far from perfect, the governing document created by America’s founding fathers has evolved along with its people. The numbers show the enduring attraction of this system: 45 million people living in the U.S. today were born in a foreign country. That is more than four times higher than the next highest country. For many people around the world, America remains the ideal place to start a new life.

4. Innovation

Of the 9 largest tech companies in the world, 8 are based in the U.S. Give the growing importance of the technology sector, that’s a big deal. For decades America worried about energy dependency, yet today America is the world’s No. 1 producer of oil and natural gas, in large part due to the development of hydraulic fracturing, a product of public research and private energy. America’s research universities and scientific institutions are best in class, allowing the nation to focus its ingenuity where it’s needed most. And America is spending the money to keep its comparative advantage intact: 30% of all research and development dollars are spent in the U.S.

5. Culture/Lifestyle

In 2012, Americans spent $370 million on pet costumes. Earlier this year the Fury 325 opened up in North Carolina, claiming the title of world’s tallest rollercoaster—until 2016, when the next ‘giga’ coaster is scheduled to open in Orlando, Florida. In the most recent Charities Aid Foundation survey, Americans ranked #1 internationally when it came to helping strangers. These stats may seem disconnected, but together they point to the fact that Americans continue to enjoy a quality of life unmatched by the rest of the world. When you combine this with America’s strength across the board in economics, military, political influence and innovation, it is no wonder that the U.S. enjoys its privileged position in the world today. Superpower indeed.

Control of most of the world's resourses, politics, ensures what you just listed. And the control is not in the sense you present it.

The current world order is an American script, carefully drafted to result into just that. Its an old style of domination. You conquer, destroy preexisting economic, cultural and political systems smh.

You know, when the current coin and paper currency system (whose value is, surprise, dependent on the dollar,) we had to depend on European currency at first, which was already in the hands of....The owners. We started at a disadvantage.

The countries at the top are there for one reason they are resting on the countries at the bottom. That is what this life, the current world order - and many have come and gone before the US - is founded on¡¡¡ And everything with a beginning ends, eventually.

Exactly @ bolded...Scripted to favor the US and equally presenting the whole of Arabia as 'clog' all through the period of US's reign as world power.

That same World order is already in its final stage of grooming Nigeria (or Biafra) as a Potential World Power while presenting Kenya as a 'clog' in the eventuality of that status...
They make it so obscure and yet the pattern of events is overwhelmingly obvious.
The powers that control this world know that the cycle must include a black nation, its just a matter of time.

Speaking of Africa, it's so obvious that Africa is rising, and all economic shake ups seem to have little effect on the continent - except for a few like SA whose market is too westernised, and for that, they have been replaced by a crazy African powerhouse - crazy in a good way. We seem to be reeping huge benefits from being a secluded market (World Bank, IMF, in the name of polished names like "good governance, and many polished words whose real effect is to promote foreign interests in Africa. " ) We were almost unscathed by the recent economic downturn. And now investors from the "developed world" are running back to the dark continent.

Anyway, I believe Africa should invent it's own economic model. First by daring to dump trade(more like being exclusive markets) with former? colonial master countries for intra-African trade, which is barely 10 % at the moment.

Op,

America alone spends over 55% of the world military budget. America is the first nation in history to use nuclear weapon in warfare. She spearheaded the founding of the United Nations just like Woodrow Wilson formulated the League of Nations after WW1. America produces 2-3rd of the world richest men. America has the largest military ever. America owns over 87% of all hi-tech innovations in the world. The Dollar bill is the world reserve currency, the global language. America culture absolutely dominates the world. Many nations of the world may always critisize this greatest nation in world history but they really know that her potentials are so vast and limitless. The US leaves UN, that is its end. The official headquarters of the United Nations is in America...

What makes America the world empire are endless. Just take a look at the world today, u Will realise that the United States is more than a superpower.

America- The last global hegemony. THE GREATEST NATION SINCE HISTORY BEGAN!

Yes! The US economic is still the one to beat, and thank God you know that what is actually keeping that economy floating, is the DOLLAR. Take that out, and Uncle Sam would become a toothless Bulldog. Ever wonder why they are taking out those nations and savagely confronting those leaders that stands against that almighty piece of paper, that the Fed Reserve can freely print at will?
The US economy is a sham.
And you didnt mentioned the 18 trillion dollar debt she is owing.

America’s military superiority remains unrivaled—full stop. The US accounts for 37% of global military spending, and spends more than four times what China, the world’s No. 2 spender, does on its military. The U.S. dominates across land, sea, air and space. ..remains unrivaled....smiley..Only in numbers, though. Or you wana tell us any weapons the Yankees have that Russia, (China to a lesser degree) don't have, or its equivalent? The fact that the US have dominated the headlines in most military conflicts accross the globe, since the end of WW2, does not imply they are the absolute in warfare, though home to the largest amount of all conventional forms of armaments.
Otherwise, no particular form of weapon they possesses that other notable nations like Russia don't have.

By the way, which real, conventional war had America fought and won? Did i hear you mention Iraq, Where the generals of the Iraqi army were bribed not to fight? Or did you say 'Afghanistan' that virtually have no standing army prior to the 'COALITION FORCES' Attack? Or was it in Libya where there was no collectivsm on the part of the people who were busy fighting themselves (no thanks to America sponsored uprising) prior to the, yet again, COALITION attacks?
The only times the US fought a real war and the opponent fought back, was in the Vietnam and Korean wars, where body-bags of over 50 thounsands were brought back home.

In the COALITION war with Serbia, the much hyped B2 Stealth Bomber was shot down by a group of Yugoslavs/Serbian forces with an outdated old Russian made SAM they some how knew how to upgradecheesy, a fact vehemently denied by the yankees, but confirmed by eyewitnessess and war journalists..

Yes! The Army, given its cheer size and numerical strenght in conventional armaments, its truely a deterrent, but mostly only to nations with 'raffia rags' militaries and uncentralized insurgents. Even at that, they are still stuggling against such raffias in Afghan and co. Neither can it deter or has been able to prevent the Vladinators's geopoliticking in relation to the power play in Ukraine and Eastern Europe as a whole, and they know it.

Stop watching Hollywood and refrain from digesting line, hook and sinker, all of its brainwashing tendencies, as well as the gibberish and lies of the Main Stream Media, BBC, CNN, et al. The US true exemptionalism is mainly in telling lies, formenting trouble, charades or false reality, interventions, assassinations, colour revolutions, chaos, cheer terror like ISIS, Al Qaida, etc, against hapless and powerless nations like Nicaragua, Panama, Iraq, Cambodia, 'Libya, Vietnam, Syria etc, in which millions of kids, women, were killed, and are still being killed; with civilian populations/homes intentionaly targeted and destroyed (thanks to wiki leaks) all in the name of a strategy called ''chaos''.

Super power indeed!

Foreign Aid keh! Yeah, they have dolled out cash here and there, but only to camourflag their true colour/intentions. Besides, Uncle Sam would never roll out so huge amount of money to any place or anybody, except it is strategic, or their interests viz their thieving Multi-Nationals is at stake. Any form of America's goodwill is underlined and aggregated by its interest which is, on few occassion, borne out of Nationalism (strategic interests-military and security reasons,) but in most cases, its simply out of 'private interests' , (the capitalist greed of profit maximization and acquisition of wealth by all means necessary) of the cabals and their Banksters elites that have hijacked the American constitutional provision of a two party system, by simply determining and controlling the emergence of candidates within the parties, that will fit or dance to their mapped out plans and objectives, thus easily placing a puppet in the white house and controling the whole nation from the backyard.

Take, for instance, the 5billion doallar aid for so called 'democracy enhancement' spent in the Ukraine; the result of it was the coup via 'colour revolution' that toppled the 'corrupt' but nevertheless elected government of Yanukovick, after the shooting of protesters and policemen alike, by a mysterious sniper group that was immediately blamed on Yanukovick, only to be later confirmed in the hacked conversation of the Estonian foreign ministry with that of the Eu, that the actual shooters were foreigners, not Ukrainers. And today, the country is practically at war, with the East refusing to be governed by facists bearing Nazis emblems and uniforms, as installed in Kiev by the United States of Anarchy.
Many thanks to Victoria Nuland's ''F*ck the EU'' hacked conversation.

That is an example of your American 'political influence', all done to get back at percieved enemies.

Maybe you can also point out ONE aid they have given to Nigeria in the wake of the Boko Haram Crisis? Not even when we wanted to buy.
Even the ordinary trial vaccine during the Ebola crisis was never given to Nigeria, for what reason? None!

Helper in indeed!

People are moving to America to live, and would be that way for a very long time, not because it is relatively better than every other developed place in the world, but simply because the ordinary Americans are honestly very receptive and free-living, and also as long as the almighty dollar remain number one in petrol trading and global exchange.

Superpower indeed.

..A quality of live unmatched by the rest of the World?cheesycheesy... What a delusion!

America is the richest country in the world, but nearly 50 million of its people don’t have basic health care coverage.

A 'super power', when the World Health Organization ranks your healthcare system 37th ‘best’ in the world, just above Slovenia, and just below Costa Rica. (And far below Colombia, Cyprus, Saudi Arabia and Morocco.)

An unmatched level of living, when instead of making it easier for citizens to obtain a higher education, its making it harder and more expensive.

An unmatched level of living, with a middle class that has been stagnant for three decades, while the wealth of the hyper-rich continues to climb through the roof.
And its even more interesting when the reaction to that is to exacerbate the problem by enacting tax policies that massively increase further still the gap between the rich and the rest.

Unmatched really!

The irony is even more pronounced, as stated by Senator Elizabeth Warner, ''the system is rigged...'', and what are results?

Simple:

America has the most billionaires in the world, but not a single U.S. city ranks among the world’s most livable cities. Not a single U.S. airport is among the top 100 airports in the world. Our bridges, road and rail are falling apart, and our middle class is being guttered out thanks to three decades of stagnant wages, while the top 1 percent enjoys 95 percent of all economic gains.
A rigged tax code and a bloated military budget are starving the federal and state governments of the revenue it needs to invest in infrastructure, which means today America looks increasingly like a second rate nation, and now new data shows America’s intellectual resources are also in decline.
For the past three decades, the Republican Party has waged a dangerous assault on the very idea of public education. Tax cuts for the rich have been balanced with spending cuts to education.''

And you may also wana read more first hand infos from the 'horses mouth' themselves:

it is the people that own a place that can tell the story better.

Stop watching and listening to hollywood and CNN/BBC deception and propaganda.
The so-called Super Power world of the US is only a world of THE 1%ters. All the glory you see around, is, 'of them, by them, and for them only,

They won't give a damn if the rest dies off...
