Asari-Dokubo endorses Uwazuruike’s Biafra agitation, says ‘it is justifiable’

The Leader of Niger Delta Volunteers Force, Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, says the agitation of the leader of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, is justifiable.

Dokubo-Asari stated this while speaking with journalists in Owerri on Thursday.

He explained that the agitation of Niger Delta and MASSOB was an agitation for self determination.

Asari-Dokubo said, “There is no difference between the vision of Niger Delta People Volunteer Force and Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra. I say this because the demand of the Niger Delta and Biafra is a demand for self determination.”

Secession is not the solution but the proper interpretation of federalism. ll the fundamentals are not just right even if a state is granted independence from the Nigeria State, there would be still be voices of dissents. l have been involved in the South Sudan crisis and saw how the secession from Sudan without getting things right first has led to the civil war amongst themselves, resource control being the centre of the conflict.
