Replaced My Oxygen Sensor But My CEL Is Still On by ogawisdom(m): 7:17pm On Jun 05, 2015 |
Yeap after several months of running my machine 95 carina E 4AFE engine with my check engine light on. I decided to change my oxygen sensor after unsuccessful attempts on convincing my kazeen to learn I had to force him to change it anyway. d car does nt give me any issue watsoeva previous n even after d change apart frm slightly comsuming more fuel. Nw d issue is dt after changing d oxygen sensor yesterday d CEL is yet to go off after removing my battery head overnite to enable ECU to reset. I read online dt it takes abt 30 to 40 ECU cycle or one month b4 d light goes off. What do u guys tink d car is 95 n may nt b scan compliant. if it is an oxygen sensor issue will d new sensor b workin even with d CEL on |

lomomike: Nope but my research reveals dt oxygen sensor is d usual culprit wen carina E CEL comes on. D car is pre 96 and may nt be scan compliant |

ogawisdom: TOTAL ERROR!...AINT TRUE........ SCAN FIRST TO KNOW the cause of the check engine...2ndly most cars have between 2 to 4 oxygen/af sensors..........so only a scan will tell u the particular one that is bad |

From what I have read online with many sources, Air fuel ratio sensor are improved version of oxygen sensors. It is latest in the technology and has been around for almost 10years. It saves more gas than oxygen sensors and it is wide band against oxygen sensor which is narrow band. You can actually use AFR sensor of the same part number in place of oxygen sensor. Again most scanning tools read AFR as oxygen sensors |
