Akure — THE decision of a senator of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in the Southwest geo-political zone, Senator Tayo Alasoadura, to vote for Senator Olusola Saraki has continued to generate ripples in his home State- Ondo as he continues to receive knocks for voting his choice.

The development became very messy at the weekend making some leaders from his constituency to suspend another leader who criticized his decision to vote against his party’s candidate.

Senator Alasoadura represent Ondo Central Senatorial District in the upper Chamber.

Leaders of the party in Ondo Central senatorial district who threw their weight behind Alasoadura include Chief Eleti Joshua, the Chairman of Akure North APC Chairman, his Secretary, Mr Tunde Adesunloro, Women leader, Mrs. Joke Oluwafemi and Tayo Afolayin among others

Other leaders in the state that kicked against his decision, accusing him of being the only representative from the South-West who attended the plenary session where Saraki and his Deputy, Ike Ekweremadu, were elected for the senate leadership positions instead of Senator Ahmed Lawan was led by Saka Yusuf Ogunleye who is from the embattled senator’s constituency. They lashed him for betraying the trust of the party and the people.

Meanwhile, Ogunleye who accused the senator for flouting his party’s order has been suspended indefinitely along side his ward nine party Chairman, Mr. Ojo Adegbola for anti-party activities by the leaders.

The leaders in a communique signed after their meetings said that Senator Alasoadura consulted widely both at the state and national level of our great party before he decided to support Dr. Bukola Saraki.

It read “there was no meeting was no Local Government executive meeting where distinguish senator Alasoadura was reprimanded for his action and such directive could not have emanated at all”.

“ Having gone through our pary (APC) constitution and Federal Republic of Nigeria constitution, there is no where it is written that you cannot support any candidate of your choice and interest.
“Therefore, senator Donald Tayo Alasoadura has not in anyway violated APC constitution as well as that of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”.

“Judging from the above, the entire APC members in Akure North Local Government strongly belief in the personality of the Senator Alasoadura, his leadership and his ability to give good representation”.

“We hereby suspend Mr Saka Yusuf Ogunleye indefinitely along side his party/ Ward 9 Chairman, Ojo Adegbola and their suspension take immediate effect.

APC hypocrisy continues...they are still acting as if they are the opposition party, i guess they are used to being in the opposition
