There have been reports in the media that President
Muhammadu Buhari is angry with the Department of
State Security Service (DSS).
This may have been demonstrated by the rejection of
253 DSS operatives sent to the villa last week on the
orders of the President who reportedly said he does
not want the agency’s personnel around him.
While the reports said the president’s anger with the
DSS may have stemmed from the agency’s “various
negative security reports it wrote against him during his
struggle to become the President, including the report
on the recent certificate saga,” there is a an indication
that there is more to it.
According to a source, President Buhari’s smart
security detail discovered that the DSS had hired an
Israeli security company to plant bugs throughout the
villa.
This the source said is partly the reason why President
Buhari is yet to move into the villa aside the renovation
work that is been carried out until it is completely
scanned and cleared of spying devices.
The source said it is not surprising that the DG SSS
has refused to comply with presidential directive to
supply the presidency with the list of SSS officers that
will be working there for screening, a reason the 253
SSS officers sent to the presidency on Wednesday last
week were promptly turned away.
