What makes a programmer tic like a clock - is their knowledge and practice of creating flowcharts and algorithms (not logarithms mind you). This is actually more important than the act of writing the strange jargons y'all call codes.

When you see a programmer staring off into space - he is not likely daydreaming about his girlfriend (or the reverse), he is most likely working out flowcharts and algorithms and plotting the results right inside "space" or "cyberspace", and this is not matrix mind you.
