Getting the right church is like getting the right friends around you. It's a community of people no different from the neighbours you left at home, only these ones have a common belief. So that's one:

1. Common belief, in a general kind of way,
2. Is the fellowship beneficial? Do you feel spiritually nourished? or do you feel more spiritually wanting after every meeting/fellowship?
3.Avoid places with strife.
