Did Michal have any children or not?

2 Samuel 6:23 and 2 Samuel 21:8

No children:

"And Michal the daughter of Saul had no child to the day of her death" (2 Samuel 6:23) -

Five sons: -

"But the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bare unto Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth; and the five sons of Michal the daughter of Saul, whom she brought up for Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite" (2 Sam. 21:8.)

"So the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, Armoni and Mephibosheth whom she had born to Saul, and the five sons of Merab the daughter of Saul, whom she had born to Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite" (2 Samuel 21:8, NASB).

"But the king took Armoni and Mephibosheth, the two sons of Aiah’s daughter Rizpah, whom she had borne to Saul, together with the five sons of Saul’s daughter Merab, whom she had borne to Adriel son of Barzillai the Meholathite" (2 Samuel 21:8, NIV)

Michal was David's (not Adriel's) wife. Marginal reading shows the text in kjv referred to Michal's sister (Merab who got married to Adriel the Barzillaite)

While acknowledging what Scholar8200 says

It is interesting that this English version of 2 Sam. 21:8 which was quoted uses the phrase "brought up" instead of "born"
I am curious (but won't bother to research other versions) if this was the translators trying to find the most convenient expression to use that would align with the curse that was previously expressed.

In general and aside form this bit which I draw our attention to, I am quiet weary when scholarly translators with denominational Christian slants try to translate the bible to suit their beliefs.
While trying to do God a favour, they may end up hiding something that might be extremely useful to a Christian that meditates on the Word.
