Breaking: PDP Urges Buhari To Stop Giving Excuses by Rikidony(m): 9:10pm On Jun 23, 2015
Abuja - The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
has described as evasive, diversionary and
preemptive, the present government’s pile up of
excuses for possible failure in delivering on its
campaign promises to Nigerians.

The PDP said it is unfortunate that President
Mohammadu Buhari and the APC chose to
deceive Nigerians with bogus promises, only to
now resort to excuses after using the promises
to secure power at the center.

PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh in
a statement on Tuesday, said the party notes
with dismay, President Buhari’s statement on
Monday that Nigerians should not expect much
from his first 100 days in office on claims that
he met “virtually an empty treasury and huge
debts”.

He noted that such statements only underlines
the fact that the present administration is really
not equipped to face the challenges of
governance.

“Of course Nigerians are willing to support and
cooperate with the President, but we are
worried that the pictures emerging from his
presidency and his party do not in any way
inspire hope in the citizenry.

“President Buhari and the APC must know that
Nigerians did not give them the mandate to
engage in frivolous excuses and pleas but to hit
the ground running with solutions and quick
fixes they promised during the campaigns.

“Even if Nigerians decide to wait endlessly, we
wonder how much the President can achieve
amidst the flip-flops from his presidency and
cacophony of interests from his party leaders
struggling to enlarge their selfish political and
economic frontiers.

“How can one reconcile President Buhari’s
statement with the recent ridiculous and
misleading claim by APC’s National Publicity
Secretary, Lai Mohammed that this
administration has achieved in three weeks
what the immediate past administration did not
achieve in five years?

“Since after their electoral victory, the APC and
the President have continued to expose their
lack of commitment towards their campaign
promises.

Shameless PDP. Stating the challenges ahead do not in anyway translate to excuses.

If the economy was buoyant as the PDP would have us believe, States would not be cap-in-hand asking for all manner of concessions to offset wage bills

When one says the treasury is empty, it does not amount to a complete absence of funds but when one projects current day expenditure with present revenue streams, one might be tempted to describe the purse as empty.

A reason for the state of the Nation comment is to get the public who voted a new government to understand the present situation and reality on ground so no unrealistic expectations be demanded and for patience to be exercised.

We are yet to see the actions of the new government as it is just that, New.

A party that has deprived the working community of growth, made the labour market one filled with tragic stories ought to caution itself from making remarks that eventually come back to haunt it.

I believe for the said change to come to pass, he needs to carefully select people that will work with him.
You can't clean a dirty floor with a dirty mop. He's taking his time.

He needs time to achieve his aims (our aim). What most of you don't understand is that Nigeria has really gone bad in the hands of GEJ and his men...

I'm sure President Buhari has great plans for this country, give him time, it's not even up to a month....

God Bless President Buhari.
God Bless Nigeria.

Buhari Is Not Even Boy's Scout. No wonder He
Says We Should Not Call Him "General".
Boy's Scout motto is "Be Prepared". Young boys
are taught that, for instance, if you win an
election 3 months ago, you should be prepared to
form a government immediately. That is Boy's
Scout oh!!!
Even in Girl's Guide, they teach them strategy on
preparing their homes immediately they are
married and not wait for mother-in-law to shout
first. (Okay, I made this one up)
What I did not make up is that in The UK, once
you win the elections, the prime minister invites
the leader of the party to IMMEDIATELY FORM A
GOVERNMENT. Buhari obviously could not learn
this as he spent more time at the gate of the
prime minister than inside.
Or how do you explain how a man will will an
election 3 months ago, be sworn in over 25 days
ago (about a month) and he has FAILED TO
FORM A GOVERNMENT?
Generals in the mold of Paton boast about the
time they use in achieving anything. The
underlining word of true military men that
attended four years military training (not 6
months that Buhari attended and still became
"general"wink is EXPEDITIOUSLY.
Thus if Buhari was a Boy's Scout, he would have
been prepared with his ministerial list, SFG name,
name of Chief of Staff etc. he would have even
known his ambassadors.
If he was Girls Guide, he would have prepared to
move straight into Aso Rock and start work.
If he entered the military with WAEC and also not
jumped four years of General training, instead
jumping to attend officers school when he was
not qualified to, by now he would have learnt of
great military feats like Raid At Entebbe, Battle of
Longewala, Battle of Gate Pa etc and realize TIME
IS OF THE ESSENCE
Anyway, he knows this so he said we should not
address him as GENERAL as he is a disgrace to
the name with his poor decision-making and no
decision making.
So we will just keep with the Dullard of Daura
name and wait another week for the simple task
of forming a government.... Not even working
ohh... Simple forming of a government.
General that cannot pick his team. RUBBISH!

I think PDP is on point on this, because all the excuses the new govt. keeps dishing out weekly are more like tales we have heard about before. Most of this things were used against the Jonathan govt. so they should just do what they promised already
