ABUJA—Speaker of House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara has said that the All Progressives Congress, APC, letter to the House leadership containing names of those to occupy the principal officers position was against the constitution of Nigeria.
The Speaker stated this at the weekend when he received a delegation of past members led by Rep. Dauda Bundot and Rep. Jonathan Asake.
The House was thrown into pandemonium on Thursday which led to fisticuffs following the alleged Speaker’s refusal to read the letter from the National Chairman of the APC, Chief John Oyegun which contained names to fill the positions.
Addressing his visitors, the Speaker said: “As leaders, we are bound by the constitution and when we got that directive from the party, we said that we must defend the constitution, we must enforce our rules.

“It would have harmful effects to the constitution of Nigeria for us to adopt the position of the party.
“Assuming we go ahead to announce the party’s position, which recognises members of the Northeast and Southwest as principal officers which the Northcentral members have already made a very strong allegation against APC, what happens?
“Assuming a court now rules that, the directive of the party breaches the provisions of the constitution relating to federal character, do we now begin to see somebody vacating his official principal position so that we can accommodate the court’s ruling?”
The Speaker further said that in order to avoid such problems it would be best that the offices of the presiding officers were given to other zones that had not produced any principal officers.

So he wants to tell me someone didn't submit his name to the party leaders so that he could be given the chance to be voted/become a Honorable. Shio!

If APC made unconsitutional moves, let them pay the consequences.

The point of change is to deviate from GEJ's wicked administration. We didn't vote for APC to watch repeated TV marathon.

Each right thinking APC person here should be constructive with his/her criticism on this new government. Be unbiased. This is not a fight between PDP and APC.

Dogara now claiming to know better than his teachers.
No one person is greater than his own political party my friend.

It is going to be very difficult for both Saraki & Dogara to manage their different leadership roles because they don't even have the support of the majority among the APC lawmakers.

Saraki for example has only about 10 APC senators for him against about 51 in Lawan's group.

My advice to Dogara & Saraki will be to do the needful and save their political career from sudden death.

A word they say is enough for the wise..

Assuming you allowed Femi Gbaja to be Speaker, all these wouldn't be happening.

Always show loyalty. Even if you go back to PDP, no one will trust you. It's as simple as that.

With this statement, expect more Roforofo when the house reconvenes July 21st. APC complain about Saraki, complain about Ekweremadu, complain about Dogara. Kai!!!!!!!!!!!!! APC playing Majority and Opposition politics at the same time, that is greediness. They should reserve one for PDP to play.

Not only unconstitutional, it promotes dictatorship, kills checks and balances in the three arms of government : executive, legislature and judiciary. They want make PMB a dictator.

I am really sick of hearing Dogara, Saraki and Tinubu story almost every minutes... We need to more of actions, implimenting the developmental roadmap of their electioneering campaign.

Are we still on this issue? Anyway, I just love the way Dogara and co asserted their independence. The APC leaders (and their myopic supporters) accusing him of betrayal must undergo mental treatment. Did the party realise that it's bogus nomination of Principal Officers excluded the North Central that produced 50 of its 235 members in the HORs? Mumu old men in diapers!!!
