Reports have emerged confirming that President Muhammadu Buhari, has appointed Colonel Hamidu Ibrahim Ali, a former Military Administrator of Kaduna State as Chief of Staff.

Colonel Hammed Ali was Military Administrator of Kaduna State during the military regime of Sani Abacha from August 1996 – August 1998.

As Governor, in October 1997 he allegedly sacked about 30,000 striking civil servants in Kaduna State, and detained 18 Local Government Chairmen.

A journalist who reported on the sackings was alleged to have been severely beaten and tortured in the Government House
