According to a recent report by The Cable, no fewer than 221 persons have been killed since May 29 when President Muhammadu Buhari took office as Nigeria’s president and Commander in Chief. Majority those killed were in Borno and Yobe states. However, what is worrisome is that unlike in the past when statements came from the president’s office to express sympathy with victims and re-assure Nigerians that things would soon be under control, the present government currently says nothing about these attacks.

Below is a comprehensive list of Boko Haram attacks since President Buhari took office and number of people that died in each attack;

May 30: A suicide bomber struck at a mosque in Maiduguri during the afternoon prayer session killing at least 16 people.

On the same day: Suspected Boko Haram insurgents fired rocket propelled grenades into Dala Lawanti, west of the city, killing about 13 people

June 2: An improvised explosive device (IED) concealed in a butcher’s table detonated killing about 30 people at a busy meat market in Maiduguri.

June 3: An IED, the accustomed death device of the insurgents, detonated killing a few people at a military check-point in Baga, Borno state.

June 4: A suicide bomber hit Jimeta main market in Yola, Adamawa state, killing at least 10 innocents.

June 7: Unleashed another blood-shiver on a popular “cow market” in Maiduguri, killing an unspecified number of people.

June 11 FAILED MISSION: Three female suicide bombers prancing to carry out attacks in Bauchi died by the device of their own hands.

June 15: Multiple blasts killed about 10 people at Potiskum in Yobe state, mostly police officers and members of the local vigilante group.

June 22: This time, two female suicide bombers disguised as beggars detonated their explosive-laden bodies at a fish market about 4pm, killing at least 30 people.

June 23: A suicide bomber killed about 10 people at a market at Wagir in Gubja local government of Yobe state.

June 24: 40 persons were killed in a raid on Borno villages by the insurgents.

I want to believe that all the numbers given since the start of this war are quite conservative.
Knowing fully well how Nigeria operates ,You can multiply the numbers by a factor 10 and you will still not be close to the real numbers.
