Could this be the end of Davido's musical career? The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) are now investigating Nigerian singer, Davido for showcasing hard drugs in his new music video "Fans Mi".

In the video, there is a scene where we see Davido discussing with a man over a briefcase of dollars and a bag full of parcels of hard drugs.

Speaking on the decision to put Davido under investigation, NDLEA’s Head of Public Affairs, Mr. Mitchell Ofoyeju said in a mail exchange with Sunday Telegraph, “The agency considers the musical video ‘Fans Mi’ inappropriate and indecent. It has the tendency to negatively influence and induce drug use and trafficking. Besides, it is counter-productive on the campaign against drug production, trafficking and abuse. The agency is investigating the matter and will take necessary action".


They ended by saying that this may be the end of his musical career because if he is found guilty of promoting hard drugs, he WILL be arrested.

In as much as I am not going with his arrest, dude should be cautioned.
Nigerians complain daily now about the poor content of our music videos today because of nudity and this madness started one day without taming it.
The whole drug for money concept will in no small measure pass a negative message to the young audience who are largely his followers. We already have too many vices to preach against and with the mentality of hustling and making big pay thru drug deals inculcated in the people, we might end up have too many wasted souls on the streets.

You are right, brother. Promoting drugs is wrong, if not for anything else....but the countless lives that are lost due to abuse and overdose. We should make the work of parenting easier not hard. Davido has a million followership across the world. These folks consider him as a role model and would engage in anything Davido endorses. We should be careful. Everything counts.
