Don’t Dare Cut Our Salary – Osun Workers Warn Government by metronaija: 10:24am On Jul 04, 2015 |
Workers in Osun State under the aegis of Nigeria Labour Congress(NLC) have displayed their agitation over the proposed 50 per Addressing the newsmen in Osogbo, the state chairman of the union Comrade Adekomi Jacobs said the resolve of the state government to cut the salary of the work force in the state by 50 per cent from January 2015 was unacceptable, satanic and a means to frustrate the work force in the state. He also described the government plan as wicked, maintaining that it was suicide for any government to arrive at such position after he had failed in his constitutional responsibilities for the past eight months. Recounting the calamities that had befallen members of the union as a result of non-payment of salaries by the state government, the NLC chairman said almost 350 deaths of pensioners were recorded as a result of inability of the government to pay pension arrears. He however said the issue of Osun workers and the government was “No retreat, no surrender”, as the union would not relent until government acceded to the demands of the workers and pensioners. http://www.metronaija.com/2015/07/dont-dare-cut-our-salary-osun-workers.html cc.lalasticlala |

Salaries will have to be cut. Lower prices mean less money flowing everywhere. I expect salaries to be cut in all levels of government across all states until oil prices have increased. That raw fact is the Nigerian government budget is 90% oil revenue. Lower oil prices means lower governmental budgets. |
