Ladies and gentlemen, this confirms the reality on the state of our nationhood. Ours is a nation of reckless consumption of goods and services. For how long are we going to continue living in this quagmire. We have surrendered our source of livelihood to other smaller nations, leaving them to thrive on our continued stupidity. I ask again, why would a nation of about 170 million people heavily rely on nations of smaller populations for virtually everything. Rice, pampers, sugar, PMS, textile products, second value cars (tokunbo cars), poultry, fishery and dairy products, just to mention a few. The end result of this deliberate, self inflicted economic imbalance is the numerous dilemma we face as a nation: alarming unemployment ratio, constant devaluation of our currency, extreme inflation, abject poverty, high illetracy level, insecurity, large scale under development etc A nation that fails to work towards self sustenance is heading towards self destruction.

The first step in making a headway is power then security even from the security agencies. Corruption, ethnicity and religious inclinations are also a major problem.

biafranqueen:
Not surprised!
In reality Nigeria managed to boost its output by 60,000 bpd in June despite loading delays at the Bonny terminal and the declaration of a force majeure on exports of Forcados and where is that money going? No oil minister in charge so looting in abundance.

GEJ talked about removing fuel subsidy but APC and its agents fought against it to a halt.

Only God knows that if we had been patient with that gentleman, things would have slowly be changed. angry

Shame on you Nigerian. You have the mind to open your mouth wide and said "Bank refused to grant us loan to import petrol " it sound funny. A country producing fuel is requesting loan to import fuel. Why can't you build your refinery. I thought they wanted to stop importation of petrol. You have not tired of fraudulent. Why did you stopped the importation of rice. We need change not challengings. May God help us.

Nigerians want to eat their cake and have it at the same time.. Fuel scarcity would have been thing of the past if subsidy removal had stayed back then but opposition and few uninformed Nigerians kick against it. The price of gas is different in Chicago and Indiana due to various factors and same should goes for price of fuel in Lagos and Sokoto. Expecting Buhari to work magic selling fuel for N 40 a liter as prof. Tom said is nothing but pipe dream and illusion. It time this present government do the needful to move the country forward.
I hope they are hearing you0000

Help me tell dem! Niger Delta Petroleum Resources (NDPR) built a mini refinery in Ogbele, where they have been refining over 1,000 barrels of crude per day. Why can't the major oil companies and the independent marginal field owners do the same? shocked

No, they all want to keep exporting crude, while the downstream companies keep importing petroleum products in their usual lazy man's way of doing business. angry

Diesel has been deregulated for the past few years. Yet, anytime the oil marketers want to hold the country to ransom, they also put a lid on supply of diesel and it becomes scarce. Apart from this, diesel is one of the most adulterated products in Nigeria today. sad

Abeg, people are just playing the ostrich and burying their heads in the sand...! shocked shocked
