Floyd stripped of WBO belt. Floyd Mayweather has been stripped of the WBO welter weight title he won by beating Manny Pacquiao two months ago. Mayweather failed to meet the deadline last Friday for paying the $200 000 sanctioning fee required by the WBO. The American took the belt from Pacquiao in Las Vegas on May 2 in the richest fight in history, earning a reported $220 million. Simply put, he prefers to hold on to his 2 (WBA & WBC) titles. If he pays the $200k, he'd still have to drop his 2 previous titles for the WBO . . So as a wise businessman dude had to leave it.
