About thirteen blissful years ago, I made a trip to Kaduna, where I visited the private office of the current President of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari (GCFR). During that illustrious visit, I was privileged to interview him on this magazine, owing to the fact that I was trying to sanitize the minds of a vast Nigerians who had a different and ambiguous overview of Buhari. The Christian controlled Media undermined his essence of being a good President, bringing into play, the Sharia Misconceptions. I can vividly recall during the interview, he categorically stated, he was misquoted on his view on the introduction of Sharia, and it legal system in some Northern States.

Thus, such lofty misconception haunted his political endeavors for years, until he eventually travailed this year. In three different occasions, he contested, but lost; it wasn’t because of any Leadership frailty, but owing to the defamatory misconceptions from a large number of Christians who nestled on how the media painted him. Millions of Nigerians, especially Christians in Southern Nigeria, held to the crooked perception that he was going to Islamized Nigeria and non-Muslims. They imagined, Bishops like Oyedepo, Idahosa, Okonkwo, Hassan Kuka, ArcBishop Okogie, and Pastors such as Adeboye, Oyakhilome, Bakare, Joda, Adeyemi, Adekoya, Oritsejafor all in turbans and Jallabiah after their forceful conversion to Islam, through presidential fiat, under a democratic dispensation.

AlhajiBy dint of providence, he contested for the fourth time and like a cat with many lives, this time he survived fierce political battles. After his third attempt, he almost concluded he was done with such endeavour. But, the owner of Power, ALLAH has a greater plan. He drafted him into the contest, but this time like prophet Musa that saw hell (including the miraculous crossing of the red sea) in the hands of Pharaoh and his armies, Allah strengthen him with many Haroun and he triumphed.

The campaigns that made him the president can be said to be the most tumultuous. Arsenals were fired from all cylinders. Ayo fayose, Doyin Okupe, Reuben Abati, Femi Fani-Kayode, Godswin Orubebe, Musiliu Obanikoro, Bode Gorge, Edwin Clark, Asari Dokubo and others threw caution to the winds, jibe and sworn, Buhari will never be the President of Nigeria. Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor the president of CAN, led the Christian soldiers, going on visits to Jerusalem all in attempt to stop what ALLAH has ordained.

All indications, suggest Muhammad Buhari, presidency is powered by the hands of Allah because the battle from all fronts was harrowing. Many never gave the merger of the composite, All Progressives Congress a chance to survive, but it did. Shortly before his declaration, he escaped assassination from the radical group, Boko-haram, losing one of his security officials in the attack, but gloriously escaped in whisker. The campaigns of calumny were furious, including damming hate documentaries and endless death wish adverts. Like deluge of hot waves, it poured on him with much intensity.

However, aside from the hands of Allah, It was very obvious that many things were wrong with the administration of former President, Goodluck Jonathan and it was only a matter of time before change took it shape. The goodluck, many thought he had brought to governance in no time turned to bad-luck for the country. Perhaps out of delusion he bites the hands that fed him. He lost the comradeship of five powerful governors to the opposition and African Political Giant, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and many other political big shots. He surrounded himself with miasma of sycophants and megalomania. The forensic disappearance of billions of dollars, without any caution from the presidency also sounded the death knell of his regime. His mismanagement of the Boko-haram debacle became unpardonable, especially the kidnapping of the Chibok girls that he treated flippantly.

In addition, the North was treated shabbily and turned it to theatre of war. Many watched helplessly as thousands were killed through bombings; Jonathan’s infamy can only be measured in expression of incompetence, pervasive corruption and executive rascality. Madam Peace brought the ASO Rock roof crashing on her husband with her comic psychedelic style of woman hood, unbecoming of her then status.

She campaigned vigorously, to no avail; for Allah must have ordained Muhammad Buhari will be returned to power, 30 years after he was removed because when he got wind of the coup; he told the informant, that POWER belongs to Allah and only Him can remove him and Allah wishes prevail. Quran 3 Vs 26.

Lastly i want to use this medium to appeal to all Nigerians to embrace peace and practice peaceful coexistence in all we do because there is no better substitute for peace if we must stay together as one Nation.
